Ok, Ok, I'm as guilty as the next person for dodgy Summer postings. So, here are my selections:

1. Fantasy TV team: Tim Lane primary commentator, Dennis Commetti as secondary, Sam Lane special comments, Dave Hughes as colour man

2. Fantasy Radio team: Any of the fulltime ABC Grandstanders together with me for special comments.

Dennis Cometti is my favourite. I also like Bruce McAvaney and Sandy Roberts ("leaping Leo!") so am hoping Ch7 get to share the broadcast rights with Ch10 (Dennis will surely then go back to 7).

Eddie Maguire, Steve Quartermain and Dermot Brereton all annoy me.

Peter Daicos was a great commentator for 10...NOT!

He only lasted less than a year. Who remembered that failed segment at half time "Ask Daics"

If I was joking I would say something like "St. Kilda, Premiers" that type of thing.

Bruce is the best - I actually stopped watching Sportsword after he stopped hosting!

Surely it's you guys who are joking.

Bruce bought passion, excitement and energy to the game. He has a good knowledge of the game and showed absolutely no bias.

He would have to be one of the greatest commentators of the modern era.

Can't stand McAvaney's football commentary. Too sycophantic towards certain players (especially ones I hated), very critical of mistakes by players and that guttural sound he tried to make was annoying.

I'd go for Lane, Cometti and Walls if I could choose, in terms of TV commentary. But I don't mind most of the actual callers on 9 and 10 (7 is the opposite) - the colour commentators are generally not as good. Brereton is a mind-reader and trite.

I still remember when Sandy Roberts said "And Tony Lockett with the biggest kick of his life" in the 96 preliminary final - I liked Sandy.

Lou Richards eons ago and Dennis Commetti

I used to love thursday night League teams with Lou Jack & Bob - is was hilarious and I remember when Ron Casey compared Sportsworld (or what ever it was called back then) and Sam Newman used to cop so much crap from the others - so it proves that after all these years Newman was talking through his backside then and still is now!

Well said Sharpie. I love the way Keka & Luffy argue and there is humour in their commentary. I also enjoy listening to the ABC grandstand commentators, usually for the other games of the round as I can't wait for the replays to be played up in NSW. Can't really comment on the TV commentators as I rarely listen to them. Most of them annoy me with their stupid comments although I do enjoy listening to Denis Cometti.
