Laidley wary of NFL

Kangaroos coach Dean Laidley says his players will be off-limits to National Football League scouts during their US tour. All the Kangaroos players who flew into Los Angeles yesterday for Monday's AFL exhibition game against Sydney are locked in to contracts until the end of 2006 and can't be recruited by America's big-spending NFL clubs, Laidley said.
Kangaroos veterans Saverio Rocca, Adam Simpson, Shannon Grant and Brent Harvey did not make the trip, with Laidley's squad made up of 29 younger players, led by Daniel Wells, Brady Rawlings and Corey Jones.
Laidley said if Rocca had made the trip, he would have stunned the NFL scouts with his long-range kicking. "If they thought Ben Graham was good, gee, wait until they see Sav," Laidley said
