The Eagles bad news for those untouched by the WA media.

Brad Smith, the Eagles' great FF hope has been struck another injury blow:

    Source

Here's the basics of the story more or less plagiarised from the article:
    • Smith originally began training with the Eagles as an 18-year-old, but was struck down by hepatitis and glandular fever, forcing him out of football.
    • In the WAFL during 2004 he kicked 109 goals, including five in the grand final, as the Lions won the premiership. The Eagles signed him up.
    • The 25-year-old missed the entire 2005 season with a pre-season knee injury and a reconstruction and rehab.
    • He was given the green light by doctors two days ago to resume full training, but sustained another injury.

I really feel awful for Smith and I hope he recovers fully to play AFL. When it comes to Eagles fans though, eat dirt.

Maybe he should try playing for a real football club

      Shocking luck for the kid.

I've been following his career with a bit of interest as he was taken with a Carlton draft pick (in exchange for Callum Chambers).

I really hope he comes out of this and plays some good footy.

      Sad, sad news.
