Originally posted by DST Of the 3, Laidlaw looks the most likely to play senior football this year. Much stronger in the body in relation to the other two and has some speed as well.
But if last year was anything to go by & mr Kennelly continues to clock up his onfield time, what position do you think they'll put him in?
Around the same deal?

Agreed, Laidlaw lacks a bit of polish but ran the ball well, played with confidence & looked a likely type as the old style commentators are wont to say.
Other 2, Thornton & Brabazon, showed glimpses but it's the Canberra ressies for them this year you'd think.
I liked that Laidlaw backed himself and took a bit of a run. However, if he does get a go at seniors level he will need to be careful of that as the game is much quicker than he'll be used to. Will be interesting to see what impact that would have on his game (if the running with the ball is a major part of it).

I thought they all looked pretty good but of the 3 i thought thornton looked to be the most comfortable with the pace of the game. He's my tip to debut the first of those 3
Just saw a replay of the game. There was a great passage where Laidlaw got the loose ball from the HBF did a 360 through a bit of traffic and put on the jet engine, dodged a couple and sent a penetrating kick into our forward line. There is a bit to like about this bloke.

For what is worth I thought the three of them showed a bit. Brabazon appeared to possess a touch of class. The boy I was impressed with was Jack. Under packs, tackling, took a nice grab. But they will all take time.
