Newsflash......Myself and the other language teacher have just been asked to show some work we did last year to a conference in Melbourne..........wait for it...........in the week just after round 1. Flights over paid, accommodation paid, meals paid. I as going to go to rd1 anyway but now I'm there with bells on. Plus I'll be able to stay longer and see my eldest at Art School.

The planets are still in line.

will be there for round one aswell, heading down to the comm games, and with mum and dad arriving for the GP that weekend it seemed only right to stay afterwards and catch the game,

managed to get our tickets through some frinds who are bombers members so hopefully we will be sitting amongst the scum whilst their hapless bumbers are being flogged

Sounds like the mods will need to start a Planning Forum for Round 1.

Round 2 is going to be an anti-climax at this rate.

I always find it really strange that in Melbourne the cheap seats up high in the big grandstands, whilst the more expensive ones are at ground level.

Everywhere else you'd be paying a premium to sit in a grandstand. And the plebs in GA would be at ground level.

                  I wonder why that is.

I assume the twos will be playing but they might put the last part of the game and presentations on the big screen during the break.

I look forward to seeing a larger than life Roosy saying "Here it is!!"

Get him up on stage - "For those South Melbourne/Sydney Swans fans waiting just over 6 months to see the flag unfurled....HERE IT IS!!!" and then have him unfurl the flag.

                      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

Probably because the MCG is so huge that if you are up the grandstands the players look like ants and at the dome if you are down the bottom you are basically on the field - awesome view. That is why we pay a premium down here in Melbourne for the bottom level seats!

Unless I'm wrong, the Flag is unfurled at the home of the Sydney Swans - that's the SCG and not Telstra Dome.

The flag will be flown at the SCG on April 9. NOTHING happens in Rd 1.

The flag gets presented to Melbourne based supporters in Rd 3 before the Carlton game.

The best seats at any sporting ground with grandstands are the ones that are elevated but not too high. For example, the best seats at the "dome" are on level 2, so they are the most expensive, then, the terrace seats (level 1)are the next in price along with the front approx 10 rows on level 3. The the seats from about row 11 in level 3 to the back of the stand are the cheap seats. It's perfectly logical. The seats with the best view without needing binoculars are the premium seats. It works the same at the G as well.
