Didn't they have on as part of Classic Quarters? IMHO everyone involved in that game should have been charged with bringing the game into disrepute - it was the greatest blight on AFL since Mad Dog Muir was doing his thing.
And another thing! When all those bandwaggoning Saints supporters were bagging the Swans for "ugly" footy last year I wanted to strap them in a chair & subject them to the torture of a replay of this game so they could see their beloved coach & players playing for a draw almost from the first bounce. Compared to this abomination, even our worst footy last year looked like Jessica Alba.

Muir is now umpiring under 15 games. Go figure that one out.
If it wasn't for the last 10 minutes this game would rank as the worst game in AFL history.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

10-8, I seem to recall.
It was a deadset shocker, really only picked up in the last 15 minutes, when the two teams apparently suddenly realised that SOMEONE could actually win the game.
177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out.... Des' Weblog
Both teams did not deserve a single premiership point from it. I couldn't believe how bad we were and the Saints showed their true form the following week when Collingwood belted the crap out of them by 90 or so points on the same ground.

I guess when you think about it, THAT game was very much like those sprint cycling races - absolutely nothing but frustration for the most part of it - only to be replaced by absolute excitement in the last 10 minutes - when the swans finally broke through. that cressa goal dropping on the line in the last minute to put the swannies a point up, then, then then seymour to fudge that last kick across the goal to saddo - to be swooped upon by a saint just out of the goal square to hit the post. it could have been so much easier for a 1 pt win - which is what THE SAINTS deserved - for seymour kick it to the pack of players on the wing and hold it up for the last few plays. a final feeling of f'you saints for doing that to the game was then quickly replaced by the hollowness of a draw and the feeling we'd been sucked into such a game. PF'05 is for you thomas!
still think the freo game of the year before at the scg takes the cake for the worst ever game played - absolute slapstick - and in the end you had to laugh - it was soooo bad it was funny.
