Only if Thomas has another brain explosion, or if Gehrig has had some serious conditioning work over the summer.

            Ditto - and McVeigh.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Do we know if they are having any activities before the game? I heard something about Northern Heat playing an exhibition match. Has anyone heard anything else?
I heard that the AFL had a sook about cricket being played there last week and as such banished the Northern Heat game off Number 1. Actually I didn't just hear it, I know its true as i'll be ground manager at the Heat game at Hawkins Oval

Shows that I shouldn't listen to macca as he knows nothing!

What have they done in the previous years?

I thought maybe Swans reserves may have been having a run.

I have been trying to read this thread but a voice keeps going over and over in my head sayin,

"...and the Swan are in the Grand Final!!!"

I think I'll go and watch that game again.

Let's hope that we can win this game...then the pre-season record for 2006 wouldn't look so bad

It only got changed yesterday so he wouldn't have known. He doesn't answer the phone when I ring him (probably cause he knows i'm going to ask him to sell a raffle or something )

Last 2 games (at least) have had no curtain raiser, but have had half time auskick.
it will be the same on saturday.

Should be a good day. hope its not as hot as it has been over the past few days here

Yeah and if you can't remember Matt Maguire's number, just look for the guy with a bread board stuffed down the front of his guernsey.

                            Skid marks on his shorts?

The funny thing on the replay is what a huge slag off he gets from Robert Walls - makes me laugh every time I see it.

I cannot ever remember another incdent in AFL where a player went and hid at the other end of the ground coz he was scared

Whenever I see the replay of the game, I think that the original reaction from most people was the correct one. It has always looked to me like a fairly normal sort of contact (I have seen worse happen at pretty much every game, without a ripple in the media), with an extreme reaction by Maguire. No wonder Walls gave him a pasting. It was only the 5000 replays in super-slo-mo, and the intense belief that noone could be that good an actor or that weak a player prompted so many to exaggerate the intensity of the contact.

You mean and the fact that first @@@@@scared gets up and remonstrates with Hall, then runs away to the backline.

Walls was right it was a weak effort. Funny but the media never focusses on The Aints lack of mental toughness as to why they aren't a Premiership threat.

                                Other tha Robert Walls
