Glad to see that Channel 10 is continuing its form showing delayed telecasts. You would think that since it is round 1 and it is the premiers playing their first game they could at least show it live and not half hour delayed. Good way to switch channel 10 off and listen to the radio.

Half an hour usually doesn't get to me too much. Dont really understand what 10 get out of squeezing in that second (repeat) episode of 'Everybody Loves Raymond' though. Our Greatest Moment:

Whilst it is easy to say that it sucks to have more ads after goals because you want to watch the footy, you have to look at it from a commercial point of view. Advertisers should be applauded for using AFL & the Swans as medium through which to advertise their products. I think we as customers should be pro-active towards such companies. As they are ones willing to pay to identify with the Swans 'brand' over other timeslots & or sports.

That light is to let the umpire know that the TV station concerned has returned from its ad break.
The only reason I can think of for a delayed telecast is to try and get more people in through the gate, although it's hard to see what difference it will make to us considering the match is being played 1000km away."It's up to the rest of the players in the room to make a new batch of premiership players next year," Adam Goodes, triple Bob Skilton Medallist, October 7, 2011.

The new rights deal can't come quickly enough if midnight is the earliest the season opening game will be shown on free to air.
What a great advertisement of the code to the Sydney market.
I have Fox thankfully - but surely this game could still be showed live instead of an hour's delay??!!"As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

For the late night broadcasts TEN does have longer (but fewer) ad breaks whereas NINE still seems to stick to the original. Both leave out the half-time waffle though.Comment
