    Roosey on SEN

Roosey on SEN said this morning that Super Ted will be a definate starter in Round 1 and that Chambers will get the nod over Doyley who will start the season in the Canberra league.
I'm a little surprised with the choice of Chambers over Doyle.

    Your thoughts!

    Maybe Doyle is 100% fit.

After no footy for 12 months, a few weeks in the reserves sounds reasonable.

        It may well be that . . . .
Chambers is fully fit and has no history of injury.
        It may well be that . . . .
they want Big Donk to get the maximum amount of gametime/confidence into his legs
Unfortunately it could also be seen . . .
that playing Chambers this soon in the season provides some justification fof his (much criticised) recruitment.

Perhaps one of the statsmen on RWO could tell us what percentage of players recruited from a rival team DIDN'T make it onto the park in the first round.
Even those that prove embarressingly unsuccessfull for their new club make an early appearance.

Gotta say I'm mighty surprised by this as I thought Chambers was going to be a regular on Legs' HOTW column & nothing I've seen in the pre-season counters this opinion.

But they've been pretty consistent about this for the last few weeks - the clear message has been that Chambers will be playing so perhaps they've seen something over the whole pre-season that's not otherwise obvious to the eye. Maybe he got hold of a copy of those photos that Matthew Davis took after the GF.

The main thing is that Big Joll looks really ready to take the number one ruck by the scruff of the neck. He has been very good in our pre season games.

softly softly for doyle, thanks! when did he last play deep into the season? '99?
he has always shown that a good 30cm in height with a good grabbing ability is certainly an asset - but for too long has been brought down by legs that have to hold him up. ease the guy into the season and the rewards could well be there for the business end of '06
I have a new conspiracy theory on a possible curse on potential recruits over 200cm. what do doyle, luke darcy and ryan fitzgerald all have in common? all drafted from south adelaide FC if ryan griffen goes down early then revise curse to under 200cm too!

On the Footy Show it had Doyle as first ruck, Chambers in the back pocket (?!) and Jolly as one of a thousand on the interchange.

He does it just to get the reaction that you have expressed. We win a few and he'll be on the bandwagon.

BTW its nauseous (I think). You could always say feel sick.

I think it also listed C bolts at full back and Leapin' leo on the flank. Not sure if C bolts should be on Lloyd!! Not that the ball is going to get down there very much

Someone should patent a Gary Lyon doll with a bobbing head for the back shelf of cars.

Did you see his ill fitting shirt with the collar hanging out over his suit when the show opened. After the first ads it was straightened up. He would be far better presented wearing an open neck shirt. Just doesn't have the neck for a suit. Genuine slob. Also annoys the crap out of me with his contionuos hand rubbing.
