Umpires? Is there something we don't know?

Ten possible explananations for umpiring decisions

1 Paul Roos has left them off his Xmas card list
2 Paul Roos forgot to send some money to the umpires Xmas club fund
3 There is some sort of umpiring superanuuation fund Sydney was supposed to send donations to (note please forward address, Sydney Supporters will rectify this oversight)
4 Paul Roos used to pull Darren Goldspink's pig tails when they were in primary school together
5 There is some special rule clauses relating to Sydney in the rule book that we have not noticed. If so can someone please remind KB & the rules of the game committee. They will have no problem changing it, they change everything else.
7 The Red in our jumper somehow clashes with the ball, confusing the umpires as to the actual location of the ball. Although this does not explain the same behaviour at night when the ball is yellow
8 Absolute determination on the part of the AFL not to appear that they are giving special treatment to Sydney. I think everyone has that point, and we are ready to move on from it
9 Off chance that the umpires as yet aren't really sure what the rules are, and are making these decisions until such time as someone clarifies those rules. This is understandable, there is confusion as KB keeps changing them. If updated rules could be sent to the umpires that would be a wonderful step in the right direction
10 The umpires are simply biased, and choose to enforce one rule meant to apply to Matthew Lloyd in one wa, whilst placing a stricter interpretation on rules applying to Sydney

I'll take all of the above! Overall I actually didn't think the umpiring was that terrible last night - a couple of soft frees to Lloyd (but you factor in 2-3 gifted goals to him before the game anyway), but we've definitely copped worse from the maggots.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

      Roos careful on umps
Sydney coach Paul Roos has played a straight bat regarding why his three captains - Leo Barry, Barry Hall and Brett Kirk - spoke to the field umpires just before the start of the second quarter in the clash against Essendon at Telstra Dome on Saturday night.

Essendon scored 7 goals from frees. No team can win against those odds. In fact I wonder if there are any other matches where so many goals from frees have been scored. It is obvious that the rule changes have been brought in to disadvantage Sydney, but such biased umpiring is staggering. One article in the paper said all the 50/50 decisions went against Sydney, and that was written by a Melbourne journalist.

Be fair Anne, we did score 1 goal from a free!
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

Who was that blonde poodle of an umpire that was dominating the game.

Man, if you're that keen on being involved in the game, pull on some boots and go play. AFL is a spectator sport, we're much keener to focus on the players rather than you!

The free against Goodes was a joke. You are allowed to get to the contest and your opponent must know you're there and he had Goodes' hand clamped under his arm.

The frees are so soft now except when we're infringed of course. Mick Malthouse was spot on when he said the unpiring performance in the Grand Final was best umpiring performance he can remember. Then ONE single game later, they change the rules to get the Umps back in the game...BIG TIME?

Matthew Lloyd is a protected species. At the game last night I noticed that whenever there was physical contact of any type between Lloyd and any Swans player, Bummer supporters would start yelling for a free because they are so use to the umpires paying Lloyd for just the slighest tap.

              I HATE MATTHEW LLOYD!

They hate us because we force the most ball-ups in the competition and you know how much effort that requires on their behalf.

Andrew Demented-u told the umpires he does not want the Swans to win another premiership.

                      And they have umpired accordingly!

And don't forget Lloyd is umpires love child

There were a couple of softies to Lloyd; whatever, we expect that. But when Hall has a player hanging all over his shoulder while he attempts a mark and Fletcher smashes Magic's hands as the ball arrives, I'd like to see those paid to us too.

where can we group protest for biased umpiring?

Bad/biased umpiring against Swan is starting again game 1.
where can we group protest with email?

I protested last year 2005 (with others in group email protest)
I consider myself a new AFL fan that they want to see/profit from for their games. I told the AFL that the ridiculous unprofessional decisions TURN ME OFF - I didn't turn up for one home game in 2005.

I want to tell the right person(s) in AFL or Demitrous guy that I intend to do the same this year - I wont contribute$ to their AFl growth in sydney
We must put PRESSURE on AFL to do the RIGHT THING NOW (give support our coach/team who are NOT given the voice), not halfway laterin the year. It was a MIRACLE that we won last year with the damn biased rubbish unpiring the whole year round.
