    The captain before Paul Kelly

Dennis was great, fine serviceman to the club.

I think the two things that stand from his great career are:

    1. His lace up guernseys. One of the last to wear these.
    2. Dashing forward from halfback for a running shot on goal from 50 or beyond.

    Go Bloods!

He was a good all round footballer, no champion as a footballer but no doubting a great clubman.

He started as a wingman and looked like he could have been anything but failed to get to the "star" status.

To be even considered a "star" you expect someone would have at least one club B&F.

              Carroll

"His brother Wayne was a waste of space."

I believe this waste of space went close to winning our goal kicking one year. He also took "Mark of the Year" he used to always take spekkies! Similar a little to Leo Barry before he was switched to the back line.

Talk of not winning B & F and therefore being average - One of the all time greats Gary Ablett ONLY ever won ONE B & F.

Dennis Carroll was an above average player who was a great clubman and a good leader. He played Centre Half Back towards the end of his career and was a big loss in the finals of 1986. Especially our 5 point loss to the Lions.

I get the feeling there are a lot of bandwagoners out there that need a history lesson... Dennis has done a lot for the Swans over the past 20 years... in fact I seem to recall he even came close to the senior Coaching job!

As far as not winning a B&F with thats not that bad when your up against guys like Williams, Round, Healy, Mitchell, Bayes, Murphy and even Kelly..

7 Years as Capt speaks for itself...

He is one of my hero's!

Yeah and how useless was Barry before he went to the backline.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.
