This is based on the fact that I can not recall him doing anything at all on the field.

He can't ruck, he can't mark and he can't kick goals so what is the point of him playing?

And then he is almost always injured.
I disagree, he can play football, just that he is injury prone. But I think this season is his make or break season.

Let me ask you this: If he wasn't on the Swans list but Fremantle's or St Kilda's instead, would you think as highly of him?

Would you ever know his name?

No because I wouldn't know his name and wouldn't need to. But do you know the names of all the fourth and fifth ranked ruckmen at all the clubs?

        BTW no looking them up.

The fifteen straight (Or so) games he played in 04 put him in the top ten of the TLM that year IIRC.

No doubt he has the ability. But he seems like another heath james to me. If we wait too long, he'll only be a shadow of his potential due to the amount of scar tissue he'll be carrying.

Plus ... if we wait too long without return, he just ends up being a drain on our list, taking up a spot we could fill with a fit player. I have to agree that 2006 probably represents his last opportunity to show he can stay fit long enough to be a senior player.

Mental as well as physical. It can't be doing his confidence any good constantly getting injured.

Doyle is a ruckman/tall forward though and James was an undersized key position defender. Obviously the ruck takes a heavy toll on the body, but if Doyle only spends 5-10 minute stretches there and then rests at FF it is very different to Heath playing all game on a taller opponent.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

He is only on the list because he is tall. Every year is supposedly his last chance and every year he stays.

I'm agreeing with the anti-Doyle stuff here. Especially when the knives are into Chambers after ONE MATCH.

I shook Doyle's hand a few years back and he was injured and out for the season cos of it.

That Richmond game was near four years back - and hi, we lost that match too. Last year he sneezed and missed out there as well.
