In a very disappointing game, Nick Davis' commitment is worthy of comment. There were times when he seemed to be the only Swan who was trying. He was fitter and more committed than I've ever seen him before.
Sorry, I should include Jude as another tryer. And Jude seemed gutted at the aftermatch - his analogy is that a player is either a car or a caravan - and yesterday all the Swans were caravans, tagging along behind their opponents.
I'd nominate Brett and Leo as our two worst players. Any chance that Kirk won't be playing next week after his very late hit on a Port player in the second half of the match? (And not the one where Port players started colliding with each other to remember what opposition felt like.)
Despite Nick and Jude and, to a lesser extent, Monty and Craig, we have a lot of improving to do. We always start rusty but this year we seem both rusty and unfit.
I'm clinging to the belief that it's a Roos' masterplot so we peak in September (though that would just be handy for planning holidays right now) a month after the Cat's star has gone supernova then collapsed.
