Isn't this debate a big like the one we have occasionally about the "right way" to support a team.

Some like to sit on the fence, sing songs, wave flags and beat drums.

Some like to sit quietly in the stand, marking the score in the Record, and occasionally mumble expletives about the umpiring.

Just as there is no "one way" to enjoy a game and one person's preference can sit side by side with anothers, what we choose to call the team is a personal choice that doesn't affect others' choice.

For some our team will always be South or Bloods, for some Swans, for some just plain Sydney. For many of us it will vary depending on context and mood. So what?

Each to his own, I say.

Just finished watching it. Was pretty good, I was never aware of the whole Walls vs Roos things, that was a bit of news to me.

I thought the music will be sound pretty lame in a few years, but produced for the now.

I wasn't trying to say that, although in reading my post it did sound that way, my point was that they simply don't usually acknowledge the Sydney side of things too often in the Melbourne media.
I didn't think there would be any South/Bloods/Sydney supporters offended, but maybe some inward thinking VFL types. (I think these only exist in media circles, people in general seem to "get it")

I personally feel great that we can have a team based in a non-traditional AFL city, and also have a long and proud AFL/VFL tradition, Weagles, Dockers, Brions (sorry Roys people but it looked like a takeover from the outside) Power and Crows could only dream!!
I hear not what you say, for the thunder of who you are.

Cool ! Understand were you are coming from now. I just get a bit annoyed with some people up there getting shirty when some of us refer to them as the bloods. I always have and i always will. Just like Bomber supporters refer to them as the Dons or Blues supporters as the blue baggers or Melbourne supporters as the Dees or saints supporters as the soft as butter boys (or is that just me when i refer to the saints?)
                      go bloods!!

Robert Walls tends to be a pretty straight shooter who tends to report things as he see's it. As a player he was one of the best CHF's running around in his era, no mean feat when you consider the calibre of the other CHF's of the time.

Legend has it when Ian Stewart came to coach Carlton very briefly around 77 (about 8 games from memory) he queried why Bruce Doull wasn't at training - apprently his mother had passed away - he then said well he's not dead is he? Wall's reply was to drop him like the sad sack of @@@@ he was. To me that speaks volumes for the man's character.

That being said everytime Carlton plays he seems to write negative articles about their up coming opposition - Last year both the Dockers and Swans copped it from him as has been the case this year. Both teams responed on each occasion with wins. So you guys should look at the positives from his articles. He obviousily hit a raw nerve and you responded with wins. Regardless of the style of footy that the Swans are playing at the end of the day winning is what counts.

For me at least I can see some improvement in my beloved Blues this year and also enjoy (although i'd rather not losing to you guys) the Swans being successfull in Sydney and helping grow the code up here further.

Highlights of Last Year & Wallsy

I am very surprised the Club hasn't made/sold a highlights package of last year and it had to come from CH 10. Guess that showing Of Shake Down the Thunder later this month won't be done in Brisvegas.

I tend to sit on the Wallsy states the obvious and is anti Sydney side of the fence.

Wasn't that impressed when he first came to 3AW years ago and still not that impressed today.

He was exalted for the comments that "Sydney are very dangerous in this situation" before Bally palmed to Monty for "that goal" in the G/F.

On his courage as a player I tend to stick to the Sheeds line of thought about him that he was more a sniper and coward

Hang on, for those of us down south, is this like a doco on our finals campaign? Our season? Why didn't it get packaged with the victory pack?

They have - mostly focused on onfield highlights but with a little off field commentary too. Has been available for about 6 months now, either as a stand alone DVD or as part of the Victory 5 pack

Recently read a book by Sheeds called "Follow your Dreams" insightfull and only futher increased my respect of him. However for him to call someone a sniper is a bit of "Pot Kettle Black" given his own admisions to engaging in dirty sniper tactics as a player.
