There was the same discussion about Crouch this time last year - had a slow start but came good before coming very very good.

Match committee won't give a toss about the record - if he's fit he'll play, if not he can join Aaron Baddley in a prayer off.

The point last year was that his form was ordinary.
This year he is not playing at his best but appears to be carrying an ankle injury, maybe from last years GF IIRC. The way I read it, I think that the RWOers asking for a weeks rest are concerned about his ankle and don't want to risk someone of Crouchy's ability for the rest of the year.
We are afraid of another Magic, were a player will never be at 100% again, (4 goals is hard to argue against though )
Then again it may be the type of injury where time off makes no difference. Who knows?

I'm 100% sure he's carrying an injury, just the way he ran off in the last q. I was sitting on the wing at the Dome watching most of the interchanges, he was favouring his right leg quite noticeably.

But a large number of players carry injuries into games. If they all cried off sick as soon as some part of their body was a little sore, hardly a single player would hit 100 games, let alone 300.

Crouch must have played with injuries before, given that he's yet to miss a game. The question is not whether he has an injury, but whether it is a) an injury that is truly restricting him to the extent he's not better for the team than Moore, Schmidt or Spriggs and b) whether it is an injury that will benefit from rest.

And i suppose the fact that he left melb airport on crutches says alot too, definately injured. But Doc Larkins says with Crouchys freakish recovery rate he will be right to play, who knows what to believe.....

He had to go off a couple of times to have his ankle strapped.

Leo did that for 10 weeks or so in 2004 (?) - on crutches until midweek, trained in bandages, took the painkillers and played the weekend game with fair mobility until the final siren and it was time to go back on crutches again. So we'e done it before, as every team does.

My mum fopund an article on the internet somewhere saying Crouch will be right to take on the demons on the weekend and so will kennelly!

If Crouch was not giving anything to the team he would be the first to bow out and give others ago. At least he gets a kick or so each match unlike chambers so leave Crouch alone and let the match comittee decide whether or not he is beneficial to the team!

GO CROUCHY I SUPPORT YOU ALL THE WAY!

Are you trying to be JBB - if so use your caps and leave the punctuation out!

Why compare Chambers to Crouch? What a meaningless comparison.

Other players have played with worse injuries. So y shouldn't Crouch? The record has nothing to do with why he continually gets a game. Anyway, hope he plays
