    Ins and Outs

I reckon the Ins for this week should be Vogels, Moore.

and the Outs McVeigh and Malceski.

McVeigh just seems to slow for AFL footy. He has had the best run of any player in the last five years to prove himself yet he does not seem to be developing at all.

Vogels looks a very good player and we should be developing him. We need young KPP to come through when the champs retire.

Moore looks to have the right skills and timing for AFL but I could just as easily be convinced of the merits of one of the other young mid fielders, such as Schmidt, Willougby, etc.

I wouldn't be dropping Malceski - he is the type of player we need in our side, good foot skills, can drill passes over 40m.

The other question is who to leave out for Kennelly seeing as he is ready to come back into the team.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

What's the consensus on McVeigh's performance against Carlton. I thought he showed improvement.

I think they'll just be dropping McVeigh to make room for Kennelly...no other changes

I'm a McVeigh fan but not only does he need to start showing improvement, but he needs to start dominating games for periods.
No doubt he's on his last chance and it may only be a few more games before Roos turns to Moore, Willoughby or Schmidt to see if they have what it takes.

McVeigh - has some skill but lacks the strength, perception & real pace to play any position in a stand out manner. Has to disprove this quickly, or play out his days in Canberra.
Malceski - how could you drop him after a solid performance last week?
Vogels - I agree must come in.

Huh? He's only been on the list for four years, his first being an injury write-off.

He was the most benched player in 2004. I don't think he has the body to play in the midfield with our style of play.

              Malkeski shouldn't be dropped either.

IF Kennelly is fit, drop Ablett for him and play Buchanen more on the ball.

              Chambers won't be dropped.

                In: Kennelly

                Out: McVeigh

Is the only change I expect (unless it is Malceski out). I think Williams should go out for a week too and bring in Vogels. I also think Ablett should go for Moore.

Hard to understand your logic, however out of the 2 players mentioned, it would be McVeigh to go first. Malceski deserves a run of 3-5 consectutive games in the seniors to see how he goes.

In McVeigh's defence he kicked a crucial goal 45m out on a tight angle in the 3rd quarter to stem Carlton's run.

I don't reckon Malceski will go out this week. He had a bit of an ordinary game on Saturday. He is a much better player than he showed then. Should be given a few weeks to prove himself.

I thought his performance was decent enough given it was only his 5th or 6th senior game and the team wasn't playing that well. Certainly should have been good enough for him to retain his spot.

I'll admit straight up that I am a McVeigh fan.
He is one of the few players I feel confident disposing the ball at the moment. He only just turned 21 and is only going to get better. If anyone looks lost at the senior level at the moment it is NOG.
Anyway, why do we need to make any changes? If Irish is okay, then fair enough, bring him back in. Change for the sake of it is silly, but and enjoyable pastime.
Think about who we are playing and base your selections on this, not your favourite fringe players! (BTW I can see my hypocrisy in this post)

Well Jolly could still miss this week with that elbow so if he couldn't get up it would most likely be the Big Earl making his debut. He'll impress make no doubt about that.

McVeigh who i didn't think was too bad will make way for Tadhg as Malceski needs more than a week.

                          Pretty simple.

Why not NOG? Is it because he is has a premiership, and therefore more "credits"?

I thought Malceski did some good stuff in the pocket in front of us at the Lockett end. I think he will settle in very quickly.
