I remember seeing the worst ever game played by any footballer ever.

It was Matthew Primus against the Hawks at Waverly.

    He was horriffic.
    I litterally laughed and laughed.

After that, I can POTENTIALLY see a very bright future for Chambers.
The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.

Yeah, you're right about Primus. I thought the same about the Golden Staf when he played his first few games and couldn't understand how we could play him ahead of Gavin Rose. But within a year he would have have been the most skillful big man in the game. (He would be really handy now). But the comment about Chambers being at Geelong for a few years is a good one. He seemed to have quite a few opportunities there, but I guess big men take time. In my younger days, South had a ruckman called Fred Way, and he played for Victoria in spite of the fact he virtually never took a mark or got many kicks. He was just a tap ruckman. Maybe that's where torture's future is. If he can clear the centre in our favour then he'll be worth every draft position we payed for him.

Thought he was much better today, especially in the latter part of the third quarter. He actually picked up not 1, but 2 kicks! Got his hands on the ball quite a few times and I really hope he keeps improving since Doyle is now gone.

agree - even if his tapping work was better today. Still got smashed by White tho & it didn't help that their second string ruckman kicked 2 goals.

I thought Torture's rucking in the second half was very good. He seemed to be rucking best when we made that surge late in the 3rd Q.

              His highlights;

A good uncontested mark in the D50.

              Crunching Johnson.

Centre bounce tap straight to White. (that was brilliant)

Beating White at ruck contests around the ground, regularly.

Paul Chambers is taking over from LRT as the new 'cult' hero behind the goals. There were raucous cries of excitement when he had his possessions today. Had we kicked a Sausage today, several of us would have had heart palpitations such was the excitement his undisputable footballing prowess & overall excellence.

A song started up that caught on

                "Paul Chambers, whoah
                Paul Chambers,whoah
                He's come up from Geelong,
the man can do no wrong!"

I thought Dennis said he was channelling Polly Farmer. Dennis's call off the day was when one of the Swans made a clanger. Dennis: "He had two options and took the third"
