    This day seems familiar..

Anyone else finding the atmosphere and the pregame entertainment at the MCG today bringing back some memories of a few months ago?

When does the Last Post and a minutes silence qualify as "pregame entertainment" ???

You obviously didn't watch the coverage.

I must admit I did only start watching from 2:30pm. What happened prior?

I should clarify this, No because I am not there and no because the Swans are not playing.

It's football hence it's "pregame entertainment"...

Pre-game entertainment was boring anyway. I started watching from 2 p.m. and got bored by the time John Williams start his rendition of Waltzing Matilda. Give me a break.

Jeez, don't be scared of showing some, if any, patriotism on Anzac Day. I can't say it reminded me of GF day because of the sort of theme it held, but it was nonetheless good!

Sad to say, but good win to the Pies too...

Thought the Channel 9 coverage dropped the ball as usual.
When comparing Hird vs Buckley they decided to put cut out images of the two players against a back drop of a trench battlefield that was smoking - and put war helmets on each of their heads.
                        Pretty crass.

Totally agree. If I want story about the Anzacs and what they did for the country I would watch a documentary not a pre-game "entertainment". Patriotism has nothing to do with it.

I thought that was a disgrace and very very tacky.

Evidently ABC radio were painting similar word pictures and copped a lot of flak on the radio this morning. When will these people ever learn!
