But I think 14 is more than just a number, it has a reputation that must be fulfilled. Think how much flak Matthews has gotten because he "took" Plugger's number 4.
Interesting to see the name Willoughby mentioned some of you may not be aware that many judges in SA rated young Josh the equal as far as skills go to a guy named Darren Jarman at the same age and from what I have seen so far he is extremely gifted in the skills department, I will never forget an absolute screamer he took in the goalsquare at Robinson oval 2 years ago.

It is important to remember Paul Kelly did not become a superstar overnight he played plenty of reserves footy, in my opinion Willoughby will develop into a fine league footballer and the no 14 jumper may well sit nicely on his back.
    cheers Ian

Yes but Billy Morrison was not an all Australian at both under 16 and 18 level and their builds are not comparable. The main point I wanted to make was it takes time for young players to develop and in my opinion Willoughby has some excellent qualities, of course the chances of him becoming another Darren Jarman are miniscule but then Jarman was a freakish type of player, Adelaide can thank him that they achieved back to back flags. I was once compared by John Beneaud to Doug Walters. Something along the lines of similar attitude to training, fraction of the talent.

In a team of no egos, where we can't choose one captain but have three, there's no chance we'll settle on a player from our currently list. If and when we break this co-captain trend, that captain should be given the mighty 14.

At the time the comment was made, I'd say it was a close run thing.

A young player drafted from the Tassie Mariners by I think Collingwood he is of a similiar build to Jonathon Brown but so far has not shown much, but to be fair to him injuries have held him back I think. Ian

The Capt should wear number 14...

Just think at the moment... they would have 3 time more brownlow and B&F votes

                            Or 14a 14b 14c
                            Or 14.1 14.2 14.3
