Your comparison breaks down. Rocca doesn't have a premiership medallion.

A great player / team man...even liked him when he was at Collingwood. Mid season is probably a bit early to be sure about next year.
Would be interested if anyone had stats on his goal kicking accuracy over the years. My sense would be that it has declined fairly seriously.
        300 well deserved.

To me, Paul Williams is a very influential person.

He kicked 193.144 with Collingscum and 80.70 for the Swans including 0.3 this year , although his last couple of years while not having as many shots he's also been pretty accurate. His total shots have really dropped off the last two years though.

One of the great modern rovers though and at his best was a joy to watch and thoroughly deserved to join the 300 club.

I was already a fan of Willo but after hearing the story of someone we know who was on the flight back from LA in January and had the whole Swans team on their flight and Willo sitting next to them. He went and got the autographs of all the players and gave it to the kids. That just increased my respect for the guy.

I'm surprised in a way he put the PA match over the West Coast match (2004) where he kicked Chris Judd's butt - j/k. Never forget that day when he got a standing ovation coming off at the end of the match.

I agree. In a team of high profile flashy stars to me Willo is the most important cog in our side. He is the player who usually has the job of getting the ball from the half back line into the forward 50. Even liked playing on the SCG in his Collingwood days; in red & white nothing has changed.

I don't really have a favourite player since Adam Heuskes retired. But I don't think people trealise how important having Willo in the team really is.

His penetration has fallen away significantly - it happens to old blokes I'm led to believe. Once upon a time, Willo streaming towards the 50m arc with ball in hand could be marked down with certainty (especially if his tongue was poking out apparently...) - these days he's more likely to find a forward's chest lace out. Still, a good result whichever way.

He would like to be remembered as a nuggety Tasmanian who had a go. Same for me.

Willo what can you say about a true champion, loved the way he plays footy, an absolute gem for the swans.

I loved seeing Willo, Kelly & Cresswell in the midfield....in the year 2000.
