    Swans urged to chase Aker

Seems a few of the big names in the club's history think he would be worth picking up. But on the flipside the leadership group would have to give it the thumbs up, and of course we can't forget the DH rule.

the irrepressible Warwick Capper all agree that "Aker" would be a great fit for Sydney
We should take him on Warwick's recommendation alone

Unless there is a dramatic turn around in attitude from Aker the DH rule still applies.

One would think that Skilton, Murphy and Kelly have a pretty good idea, regardless of any DH rule that RWO relies upon so heavily...

Honestly feel he has been around one season to many, maybe needs a sea change but looking ordinary in a ageing lions outfit.

the team's leadership group would have to approve on any senior player trade.
That's a bit odd, isn't it? How long has the leadership group been approving or denying trades?

The big question is, What would we have to give up?

All things I've ever heard/seen about Aker outside the public domain, suggest that he would pass the no DH policy with flying colours. Public figure Aker, on the other hand, is a different proposition.

I would guess that public Aker is the guy Capper would see as a "great fit" for Sydney circa. 1987.

I think it would be great to see Aker doing handstand amongst the Swannettes after a win!

They would want nothing more than a first round pick plus a player. Remember, this guy is contracted to the end of 2007.

Personally i think it would be a big mistake.

He would be 30 when he got here, can't perform in the side coming last, how would he fit in a premiership midfield (and under the no dic heads policy).
Don't get me wrong, I really like Aker, I think he's great for the game but I can't see him being a great fit for us.
