if all player out (hheney.mccartin.papley and mcinerney) my outs would be francis, cleary ,fox (both to emergencies) and probably Cunningham (also to ergency) but unlucky due to service. Between him and Lloyd. Would not drop Adams and in an under player.

Absolutely no chance Cunningham should or will be dropped.

There is no way Cunningham would be dropped. Especially as we all know that the small forwards are the ones that break the games open in the finals. We cannot drop the one player who plays the small forwards really really well. We have a problem with our defence and offence. Our defence is the one thing that has now got going in the last 2 weeks with Mills going back and doing some intercepting and moving on Florent from there. It is probably allowing Gulden to play more in the wing, midfield and forward half game. Either Guiden or McInerney will still have to do the heavy lifting of numbers in defence come September or maybe both. Our offence is a worry and I reckon it has looked boring and non functional since Papley went out and Wicks stopped doing what he is supposed to do. So Papley needs to be really good when he comes back coz I reckon Cleary and Parker have been able to wrestle some of that functional forward play well last 2 - 3 weeks.

With all the ins and outs being suggested int these posts, I just Hope they dont play Ollie Florent down back. His is not a defender and needs to play on the wing or half forward.

Paps & McInerney are all smiles participating in today's main training session. Hope this bodes well for their selection availability this week, along with Heeney & McCartin.

I hope they don't drop Campbell more than held his own up the ground, when everyone who wasn't match committee could see he isnt a defender

Should be Adams unfortunately, seen him hit 1 target in 6 weeks and that was Ollie marking on the boundary that could have been call out on the full.

Would be more than comfortable him playing a subsequent final for a non performer

On the website pictures Little Tommy is wearing runners at training, I wouldn’t have thought that was a good sign he’ll be available for Saturday

I wouldn’t fuss. He’s not the only one. Campbell and Mills appear to be too.

The AFL site is saying that both Papley and McInerney are very likely to face the Giants. Which is handy. They're also saying that Adams might be the unlucky one to miss out. Although Longmire doesn't seem to be that sure about that.

Toby Bedford has calf issues and may not play. Their midfield still bats deep and is evenly matched with ours. Tom Green, Lachie Whitfield, Brent Daniels, Toby Greene, Josh Kelly and Jesse Hogan are the matchups that we need to get absolutely right. Jesse I guess will be matched well by Tom McCartin. Lachie will be tagged by JJ. Rowbottom will be aggressive against Tom Green. And Rampe will be against Toby Greene. That leaves us with Josh Kelly and Brent Daniels to cover. Not sure who will get the jobs on them. Brent will certainly be paid a lot of attention but Josh Kellly is the one that always finds the way out with so many to take care of.

It is good to have the site back.
We're about to see a fourth Sydney derby final, when the other non-Victorian derbies have had one between them (Adelaide vs Port Adelaide, 2005 semi final). Amazing.
On team selection, I won't speculate too much because I'm not very good at picking player changes.
The last time we had all of Heeney, Papley, McInerney and McCartin in the team and they played in a winning team was versus GWS in round 15. Lost the next two games by a total of three points, but then the injuries (and Heeney's dubious suspension) started. It's going to be good to get them all back.

I'm quite looking forward to seeing McInerney running down the wing again.

Zero chance Cunningham comes out. I haven't been a fan but this is when he proves his worth tagging a dangerous small.

                              Im hoping Campbell stays in.

Yes, Bedford has to pass a fitness test before being selected. If he plays, he's going to be tagging someone, most likely Warner. Perhaps Bedford's assigned opponent should give him a sterner fitness test and just run forward and back, over and over. Can Bedford's calf handle that? Let's find out.
That reminds me of the 2005 preliminary final where the Saints put Gehrig onto Hall in the last quarter as a defender. Hall showed the Saints why Gehrig wasn't a defender, just ran a bit until Gehrig couldn't keep up due to a lack of fitness.
