We play our best for 4 qtrs it won't matter who we play but we don't match up well with all those smalls, we only have 1 Harry C and all those smalls would stop our run out of defence
Yes, the guy (Hinkley) is pushing 60, and he is that touchy he gets riled up and has to respond to Ginnivan,
who is basically a kid. What Ginnivan said was so mild too, he was probably just being optimistic.
Takes the gloss of Port's win.

Yes, while I can find Ginnivan immensely irritating, if Hinkley was reacting to Ginnivan's "see you in the preliminary" post, then it's a huge overreaction on Hinkley's part. I suspect he might be feeling the pressure, that comes from knowing a large chunk of the Port fan base want him gone. I think the general feeling was, that if Port lost that game, then it would've been his last. So, possibly blowing off a bit of steam. But still, I think most people would have been more gracious in victory and instead focused on respectfully clapping off the opponent's 300 game player.
Yes, while I'm quite glad that the Hawthorn fairytale has had an unhappy ending, I'm a touch concerned that Port beat us by 112 points a month or so ago. Although I am remarkably ignorant of that game. In that, I was interested in the Olympics at the time and I had a bad feeling about the game: so I decided to keep watching the Olympics and just check the footy score, to decide whether it was worth going downstairs and listening on the computer. Of course, the rapidly deteriorating scores meant that I stayed in front of the TV.
So, since I didn't even bother looking at the highlights, I haven't got any real idea of what happened. Were Port totally awesome? Or were we utterly terrible and seemingly totally sick of playing football?
Hopefully, it was more the fact that we were more than a bit cooked, and now that we've freshened up, we should be able to put in the sort of four quarter effort, that will see us into the grand final.

My memory is they smashed us in the midfield and outmarked us all day, particularly Georgiades. I just checked the stats and it aligns: 126 marks to 69; 22 marks inside 50 to 4; 12 contested marks to 6. Georgiades had 8 marks, including 4 inside 50 and kicked 4.2. Dixon had 3 marks inside 50 and kicked 3.0. Rioli kicked 4 straight.
They had double our inside 50s. We had no winners. It was just a shellacking.
They won't fear us at all.
We didnt have Papley, Melican, Amartey and McInerney. We did have Ladhams, Francis, and Corey Warner. But it started in the centre. My memory was Adams was one of our harder players, and he had 10 contested possessions.

I hope they're a bit cooked after their hard game against Hawthorn. And possibly overconfident.

Clarkson is just as bad, so thin-skinned and touchy they can't let anything pass through to the keeper. They even pull out that sad old excuse about being "passionate".
Sure, Hinkley will be fired or be managed out or fall on his sword one day. But you know, so what. There has never been a coach that hasn't happened to. Thankfully
Longmire appears to be an actual adult.
With a bit of luck Port may have played "their GF" last night. I suspect very few Port fans will travel to Sydney for the game unlike Hawthorn fans who
would have, so the crowd should be very one-sided. If a bit of "affirmation" from the umps is good enough for Craig McRae and Collingwood at the MCG,
then it's good enough for us at the SCG.
