So given the picks involved, this is basically Serong for Ollie plus we get some cap space.
I'm ok with that. It's rolling the dice on Serong so I hope he breaks out with us.
Not sure where the Curnow trade ends up, whilst public posturing by Carlton is he's a required player, in reality I suspect they are happy to see him go.
Petracca deal taking shape, GC scrambling for points after landing Trac.
Essendon look like they're punching themselves in the face - situation normal LOLComment

The basic change to the original Curnow offer is we have accepted a future 3rd pick instead of this years pick 22 we asked for. Will work out in the long run as we will only have space for 2 academy players in the primary draft this year unless we are prepared to delist more players from the primary list. Cannot see that happeningAccording to what I read, Sydney had "pressure" on the salary cap, so Florent was traded to get some space in the salary cap.
Details here: Deadline Day LIVE
When a player is traded for cap space, these deals tend to be generous to the club receiving the player. Trading Florent for a future third-round pick isn't anywhere near as ridiculous as Gold Coast trading Jack Bowes and pick 7 to Geelong for a future third-round pick in 2022.
I wish the deal was more generous, or that the deal wasn't needed at all.Comment
