Yeah Adams was very busy, loves a contest and has excellent hands, but kicking still hit or miss. And gave away heaps of frees.
Fox, Roberts and Francis were also solid, with Green and Snell the pick of the youngsters.

Q3: 12.9 v 6.7
A bit scrappy. Will Green has made really solid improvements in his all round game compared to early in the year. Strong defensive mark backing into a pack there.Leave a comment:

Fairly uninspiring quarter. What with the very strong wind, a bit of rain and perhaps some overconfidence. I liked Green in the middle and he now seems to be a reliable set shot. Adams has got plenty of clearances. Mitchell, Bice and Roberts have been useful rebounding.Leave a comment:

HT: 10.5 v 4.6
Bombers improved and were kicking with the wind. A number of Swans appeared to struggle when kicking for goal, so it must be a fair breeze.Leave a comment:

Q1: 7.3 v 0.3
This is a very lopsided match - Swans dominating all over the ground. Essendon 7 AFL listed players vs. our 13.
Might switch to the AFLW practice match...Leave a comment:

I think we're seeing what having a large advantage in AFL listed players means.Leave a comment:

Weather permitting I was hoping to go along to the VFL game tomorrow to see first hand how the academy players performed. Cannot understand why they are not playing, does anyone know?

No idea of the reason, but snuck a quick look at some of the AFL Sydney sides, and spotted Carmichael in the North Shore half-forward line
He was good in last weekend's U17 match against GWS. But I thought there was a combined Swans/Giants U17 team playing this weekend against a Vic outfit. He'd be close to first picked for that. Maybe it's not this weekend.
Edit: I've just checked, and the next U17 game isn't until next weekend.
I see that all four of our U18 academy prospects are missing from the VFL side. Do they have other commitments? Is there a limit on how many VFL games U18s can play? I can't imagine they've been omitted for form/talent given who has come into the team.

The team sheets on the AFL site say that they're all unavailable, but they don't say why. Anyway, this is the team. It'll be interesting to see how McCartney goes.
