In that case, I think he should play him Wolfie. We know a lot about Hayden and to a lesser extent about Ladhams who has had a few games though not during the latter part of last season- he is a bit prone to brain far*s. So why not try Buller? We may need him if we have further injuries to our talls and I’m hoping we will peak at the business end of the season, unlike last year. And a big lad could make all the difference!

Interesting we're going with 2 ruckman & Hayden. McCartin will definitely play down back you'd think. Happy we have 2 ruckman bit hope we're not too top heavy with Hayden as well.

Possible Hayden or Ladhams might be sub? Otherwise Sheldrick is most likely.

Cox said the extra talls was to combat Freo's tall backline:

Don’t mind it. You can play three talls given rotations often mean only two are on the ground at any given time, McLean probably doesn’t yet have the fitness base to play decent ruck minutes, and on the bigger ground over there you need a tall that can play deep and one that can push up to the wings.

Plus, I think Ladhams can play and I’m not convinced Grundy is at full fitness. He was average the first two games.

And don’t want to be cruel about it, but Paton didn’t convince me at all.

They have gone very tall too. On their bench they have 2 x 190cm, 1x194cm forwards, and 1 x 197cm back.

It says R1 Sub Bice, so i'm assume they're only verfiying sub from the previous round. It's same with the other games. Subs are normally named about 1 hour before the first bounce.

Don’t know if I’ll go with that- more likely Gus in all probability. When do we need to name the sub? Surely not this far out from a Sunday night game!

No, that site is saying he was last week's (Round 1) sub. He's not on the bench, so he'll definitely start in the 22.

Sub is one of: Sheldrick, McLean, Ladhams, Corey Warner and Jordon. Suspect one of the first three.

Every week, the sub is named one hour before the game.

I'm guessing it will be Sheldrick. Corey Warner could be another possible sub but I don't see a compelling reason why.

McLean and Ladhams are needed to counter Freo's talls and Jordon was one of our best players last week. None of these would be the sub.

Bice is another possible sub but I doubt it. He deserves a full game. I have a hunch that Cox won't be likely to select the same player as sub two weeks in a row.

I'm almost certain that they only pick the sub from the 5 person bench, which is the list of players in my post.

I like this team better for balance - but going to be hard to win this one

Paton & Buller named in starting 22 in the VFL. Caleb Mitchell aa one of the emergencies.

So I'm deducing Caleb Mitchell will the travelling emergency for Sunday?
