    Agree re Cunningham.

Intrigued by who'll be replaced by McInerney. Corey Warner is starting to look good and I think should stay in. Hanily is needed while Papley is out. Bice is obviously already entrenched. It will likely be Sheldrick, but I thought he was pretty good in the contest on Friday.
TMac should not be anywhere near a forward line unless it is theirs. He has managed to trouble the scorers all of twice this year. No, No, No! he's a back.

Hamling at least can play forward. But prefer to have Logan back. We have missed him. Why do coaches have to screw with players. Cox wants to turn TMac into a Forward and Logan into a back. Effing stupid.

    My ins;

    Logan, Melly, Macca

Out; Amartey, Rampe (needs a rest, a long one), Gus (I don't want to see him until he learns how to kick)

I love Ramps it is one of the greatest stories in footy. Sir Dane has been one of our great players. But he is a shell of his old self. He can no longer kick to position like he used to. He is now just bombing ling down the line every time no matter what is presented. He is one of the players who panic kicks out of defence. The others are; Rowie, Roberts, Lloydy, Chad, Blakey. Why are do so many talented players have so much anxiety?

I would like to see Buller came in but not a chance really. Apparently he had a stinker last game.

I think the coaches really need to look at what they are doing. Especially the Opposition Analysis Coach. Last week it was dreadful. Not only that, we played a really old Game Plan and couldn't get through their defence. Why? Cox was playing a different and more attacking game plan against North and Freo. But last week it was the same old look for the corridor, if they stop us then go long. Now against Freo and North we were happy to use the whole ground. But last week insisted on only going corridor. The other thing we did last week was get beaten by what we know. They always go around the boundary and then come into the centre between wing and HF. We aloowed this to happen again and again. What's more our players were not picking theirs up at all. We left them to simply walk the ball from FB to CHF again and again. We allowed them an extra at the vfall of theball that encouraged this and out extra in defence was as useless as tits on a bull. We were alos murdered in the mids. If we do this against Port look forward to a scoreline as big as last year's loss at Adelaide Oval.

We need to play a different way. We looked good against Freo and North. We played a very different style and then last week resorted to the old style Horse @@@@.

Some of it is probably us, some of it is the opposition coach and their players. Playing a seasoned team who are well coached like Collingwood you always won’t be able to stick to Plan A or Plan B.
But I remember the times when Brisbane used to get spanked by bigger bodied teams like Geelong in the contest and the same thing is happening to our team - opposition knows that we are poor in contest and heavily rely on transition and rebound footy.
there is currently no X factor player in the midfield. They are all work horses but nothing great except maybe Chad and Heeney. We are sorely missing Papley for that X factor and for leadership and enthusiasm.
i think they need to get florent in the middle to create a bit of speed in the centre bounces or even Matty Roberts. The only problem is that they both are a bit bruise free to get in the middle.
Since Josh Kennedy we have not had any hard nosed midfielder.

Bice was an onballer at Werribee and Roberts was an onballer when drafted. Both worth a few minutes in the guts?

The way I see it, we are missing mostly Gulden, Mills and Papley, all irreplaceable and probably inhibiting the game style a bit.

Amartey, if replaced by Logan is covered and we are yet to see what happens when both of them and 2 Rucks are fit. Him going down early last week was huge to lose a tall.

Harry, replaced by Wicks, probably an Upgrade, that's how much I rate Wicks start.

Fox, replaced by Bice, Fox underrated and always asked to do heaps. Be great to see him play with a healthy defense he always seems to have to plug a hole. Decent coverage but not quite Fox.

JMac and Pelican back should help heaps as well.

Unfortunately all our other injuries are long duration.

Each to their own, but Cunningham is a long way in front of Wicks in terms of being a quality defender. Just look at the elementary errors Wicks made on 3 or 4 occasions last week against the pies (not in a direct 1 on 1 contest- but getting sucked into poor positioning in bigger/more crowded spaces). He is coming along well as a lock down defender, but has a long way to go before he is anywhere near the level of consistency that Cunningham has achieved over multiple seasons.

I'm talking about Harry as a 30+ now and injury status etc etc vs what we can expect with Wicks.

Harry of years gone by, no comparison, Harry in 2025 not a huge difference.

To be fair, we have no idea what Harry of 2025 looks like, as he hasn't played.

Agree, but we can take a fair bit if the guess work out of it on the basis of age, injury history, recurrence on injury and no preseason.

The beauty of someone like Harry is that if his body come good and he was required later in the year, he could slot in and play a role

Melican named in starting team. McInerney named on extended bench in 26 man squad, which will be finalised tomorrow night. Armatey out as expected with his hammy.

Sydney has made three changes to its side for an Easter Sunday clash with Port Adelaide.

Looks like mcinerney and melican in for ladhams and amartey.

Seems like Logan isn’t ready yet and they’re gonna persist with McCartin forward in his absence with confidence melican can look after the backline. Not crazy about it but I guess mccartin can always swing back if needed.

Additionally seems a bit harsh on ladhams who I thought had played okay and really helped grundy.

I think you're right. Of those on the bench, I'd expect Bice, Cleary, Hanily and Florent would all play, with Sheldrick sub again.

Ladhams was poor in the forward 50 last week, and it seems that has been decisive.

I see Bice, Floreant, Ladhams Cleary as in

                          Sub is Gus or Hannily

Hannily been good, but if JMac is in it means Cleary goes fwd

JMAC in so I would use C Warner as sub, averaging 13 possession (Sheldrick needs a good run in the 2s)

Yeah maybe, my point is I don't see Ladhams coming out

Agreed he should definitely be in, C.Warner is in the 18 so it will be most likely one of Sheldrick or Hanily
