Usually I'm a bit peeved when we have a bye, but now I'm just feeling grateful, that we have a greatly reduced chance of incurring further injuries and suspensions. Although, I wouldn't entirely rule it out. I mean, I still don't know how Ladhams injured himself and it didn't seem to be during the match against the Crows. So, I'm guessing it's such a dumb accident, that neither him or the club want to publicise it.

So anyway, enjoy the other teams knocking themselves out. Perhaps tomorrow's game between the Hawks and the Crows will be the highlight?

Gotta be better than last night, the only highlight of which was seeing Darcy return. I stand by my prior comments for the last year or so - he will be the best player in the game by a mile, and you could offer me Nick Daicos AND Harley Reid, or just Darcy, and I am taking Darcy.

It was like watching a game from the 60s or 70s but was strangely engrossing. Wouldn't want to watch games like that all the time but an old fashioned "just get the ball and kick it" game is quite entertaining every now and then.

Sort of enjoyable until Hawthorn won. And I imagine that many Crows fans would have found it the opposite of enjoyable, watching them kick behind after behind. Right across Adelaide, you could probably hear the sounds of ornaments being smashed and pets frantically avoiding their deranged owners.

Yes, certainly would've preferred a Hawthorn loss but I enjoyed the "suburban footy" feel of the game.

Interestingly, some are saying that Adelaide was AGAIN cheated by umpires. A Crow player received a free kick on the wing just before the final siren. Riley Thilthorpe complained to umps after the game that there should have been a 50m penalty paid against Ginnivan straight after that free kick. A 50m penalty would've given the Crow who received the free a shot at goal after the siren.

There's at least 3 games I can recall in the last season or two where Adelaide reckon one decision against them late in the game cost them the win. One of those games, of course, against us when the goal umpire made a "hit the post" decision that went in our favour. The belief that one decision cost you the game is based on the presumption that every other umpiring decision in the game is correct. And we know that's not the case. Adelaide had an armchair ride from umps in the first half last night. (Not that that bothered me, mind you!)

Bad kicking is bad football.

Teams that have lost so far this round with more scoring shots: Adelaide, Brisbane. Other matches so far are so one-sided that kicking for goal wasn't a factor. Bulldogs won by an even 12 goals (20.12 to 8.12) and it's a similar story where the Sombreros are nine goals in front of the Bombers.

I was looking at the 2022 season games. The SGG was slippery in the pockets then. So, it is not a new thing. It has just gotten worse. That tells me the troubles with the turf were identifiable in 2022. Now they are so bad as to be dangerous. About time they sacked the grounds person.
