General footy chat Round 21: the other games.

Yeah, well, I suppose I should take an interest, even if our finals hopes are gone. Well, the ones that look just like finals games, at least. Starting tonight with the Bulldogs v the Giants. No real idea who to go for in that one, but my grudge against the Giants is a lot more recent.

Then there's the Crows against the Hawks tomorrow night. I have a pretty clear idea who to go for there.

Then there's the other finals type game, Magpies v Lions. Both have fairly scratchy recent form, but I wouldn't write either off.

Giants look a little ordinary without Greene .

Yes, I hope he's enjoying his week on the sidelines. Shame it's not another couple of weeks.

More than a little, HP. The Poodles are giving them a sound thrashing!

I'm vaguely enjoying the Giants being thrashed. Though I'd possibly quibble with the 18-8 free kick count.

Just going to brag how right I was when I said the bulldogs are certain winners tonight. Last week against the Swans the Giants became very physical and threw their body into the packs. You cannot be that physical week in week out when you are playing at this level.

I reckon most of the 18 Poodles frees have been correct. It's the non-calls that could've gone to the Giants that are the problem.

But, of course, we already knew that's how it goes in games against the Poodles, didn't we?

The Giants look like dwarfs next to the beanpole bullies who all have good hands .

Obviously happy to see GWS get pummeled after last week. At the hands of the Dogs though. So conflicted.

Completely understand your mixed feelings. I felt conflicted, too. Luke Beveridge is hard to warm to. (Has he ever smiled?) And anyone with the surname Liberatore deserves the disdain of any true Blood. But Bontempelli is a joy to watch and I have to admit that I really only hate the Poodles because of 2016. Watching the Giants get whacked was quite enjoyable, especially as the cameras regularly showed Toby Greene looking disconsolate in the stands! (Adam Kingsley is hard to like, as well.)

Nearly turned it off at quarter time, because Hawthorn were so dominant. Now Adelaide are in front, with 10 minutes to go in the second. Go figure.

First quarter: Hawthorn 5.3, Adelaide 1.1. Second quarter: Adelaide 6.6, Hawthorn 0.0. Absolutely no wind. Bizarre.

Even more bizarre now. Hawks back in front.

                          Absolute ripper game!

                            Rankine is fun to watch.

Probably not a great idea by the Hawthorn ruck to tap it to Rankine
