General footy chat 2025 Grand Final: Geelong v Brisbane

I'm tipping a Geelong win. Having the 2022 & 2024 premiers playing off today does bring up some old scars from these GFs.

Frustrated both teams being labelled as modern day powerhouses, as we could have easily matched their records. Both have 4 premierships this century and aiming for a 5th today.

They're both playing in their 7th GF this century. We've also played 7 GFs this century (8 if you stretch a bit further to also include 1996). What might've been!

Actually looking forward to this game as I don't hate either team and therefore don't mind who wins. Should be a good game with 2 attacking teams going for it! Pleasant weather here in Melbourne at the moment and, if that continues, a very entertaining game should be the result!

I find it hard to get enthusiastic about either team because both teams beat Sydney in Grand Finals by large margins in the past 3 years.

I’m backing Brisbane because a) I’m sick of the media glazing themselves at every mention of Danger and b) they rort the salary cap endlessly and the AFL let them do it with impunity.
