7Footywire has Amartey as a RGA this year and McLean contracted through 2027. I have been a gan of Amartey, but I would prefer to trade him or let go for compo pick and keep McLean. I am tiring of Amartey's inconsistency and his frequent injuries. All up, I think McLean is better option.

Like you I have been a fan of Armartey as I believe he has far more upside to McLean. Having said that McLean was very good against the Bulldogs and was the best game I’ve seen him play.
I prefer to wait and see how he goes over the next few weeks in the absence of Armartey where he is assured of games. In the past McLean has struggled against good opposition and now has the opportunity to prove he can perform consistently. I hope he proves me wrongComment

I’d only trade him if someone really top becomes available. I agree that he’s inconsistent and injury prone, but you need a player his size and agility in our squad. Maybe not every week as he needs to be managed. As far as a new contract is concerned, I hope he will be realistic in his expectations and I’m sure the club will offer him a fair deal. He is certainly not elite at this stage but would prefer to keep him- Charlie, Logan, Hayden and Joel make a pretty good group of forward talls and is essential if we are to be contenders.
