I maintain my long held belief that both teams should be forced to join a massive circle on the ground and sing that together after a draw haha!
Sounds like it was a really entertaining game, disappointed to have missed it while I was out and about."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

Quite an enjoyable and intense game. Shame that we couldn't eke out a win, but a draw might prove to be useful.
I thought that Snell was excellent in defence, with some strong spoiling and intercepting, while also being efficient with his rebounding. Melican and Bowman were also generally efficient, without being outstanding. Bice got plenty of it, and some of his offence was effective, but I find some of his defence offensive. Campbell went back to defence in the last and had some really calm and important rebounds. Wherever he was today, he generally looked to good for the VFL and should be back in the AFL very soon.
In the midfield we had the problem of Preuss and Mirkov getting so many hitouts to advantage. Which meant that none of our midfielders could really dominate. Dattoli was pretty good when playing inside. Phillipou did some very good work on the wing. Warner, Cootee and Rosas all had their moments, while it was the usual wholehearted performance from Shipley. And swapping between midfield and forward line, it was a big game from VFL lister, Sutton. Four goals and plenty of useful involvements in possession chains. I also liked the game of another VFL lister, Harrison. At times in the past, I've thought that his disposal skills were a bit dodgy, but today he hit pretty well every target.
So, I thought that there were plenty of decent performances in a hard fought and enjoyable game. It's just a shame that we didn't grab the win.👍 3Comment

Pretty much how I saw it - I have not much to add.Quite an enjoyable and intense game. Shame that we couldn't eke out a win, but a draw might prove to be useful.

I gave my 3 votes to Campbell, just an excellent all round game, but was surprised he was still on the ground at the end and not managed. How he pulls up may influence how soon he returns to the AFL.
2 votes - Snell. Reads the flight beautifully to intercept. Desperate defence and very composed with ball in hand.
1 vote - Bice. Always tries to move the ball forwards with run and generally precise kicks. His defence isn't his strongest suit, but I'm not blaming him for that turnover on the kick out - that was an atrocious dropped mark.
Green was beaten today but wont often face two rucks bigger than him, and competed well all day and out-worked his opponents around the ground.
Phillipou was also good, and if he had nailed that last set shot would have been in the votes.👍 2Comment

Really impressed by both Snell and Andrew today. Snell should make an AFL debut this season, hopefully next week against the Crows. He reads the ball superbly and is an excellent intercept mark, with great ball use and judgment. Pity we couldn’t hang on for the win in the last few seconds.Comment

Very good summary. Campbell was BOG until half time at least. Snell played his best game and I would like to see him in the side next week. Phillipou did some classy things up forward and will make the grade. Will Green got smashed in the ruck, but its a good learning experience. Bice got plenty of the ball but a couple of terrible passes ruined his game.
Pretty much how I saw it - I have not much to add.

We need another KPD to bring in against Adelaide's 3 KPFs and would love Snell to make his debut. But I fear that he might get outmuscled by the very physical trio of the Crows. More likely that Melican will get the call. I agree with previous post that Rampe should take Mills' role in defense and send Mills to the midfield to help with our contested work. If Cambell pulls up okay, he will hopefully get a call up to AFL next game. He was very impressive and so sharp; given he missed so much footy.
The Adelaide game is critical for us, just to show we can compete against the better sides, something we have yet to show this year.👍 1Comment

Surely Snell gets a call up. He's one of our next generation defenders and we can't afford to lose him. For sure other clubs have been watching him.Comment
