What an idiot, Gus. Suspensions cost us a lot last year. Mills’ one probably the dumbest of the lot. We need to stamp this @@@@ out.Comment

If Rosas has recovered from his calf complaint, does he come straight back in?
If not, Cootee or Dattoli should be considered. Both played well against Port Melbourne in the VFL."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

Dattoli is a certainty based on his game against Port Melbourne. If Melican can’t play the logical replacement is Hamling who was outstanding in both defence and up forward in the same game. Some will argue that giving Edwards a chance is the way to go, and he certainly got into the game particularly in the second half, I think that he needs a few consistent games in the VFL before he can be seriously considered. It was certainly a step in the right direction.Comment

Hopefully Melican will be ok, because he has been very consistent and reads the ball well these days. To think he really struggled for a few years and many times lost his man. Great credit to him.Comment

I watched the replay yesterday, and what I noticed was that when we came out of defence we had a player at CHF just inside the 50 metre arc....by themself. It appeared a deliberate strategy. Maybe WCE were slack at picking up players, but a player seemed just run to that spot.Comment

All worthy of votes, though in such a strong performance, there were plenty of others who could have snuck a vote: McInerney, Wicks, Bice and Lloyd, just off the top of my head.Coaches votes in. No surprise they couldn't quite split Heens and Grundy, a reminder of what value Paps at his best means, and good reward for both Serong and JJ.
Heeney - 9
Grundy - 9
Paps - 5
Warner - 3
Blakey - 2
Serong - 1
JJ - 1
