What an idiot, Gus. Suspensions cost us a lot last year. Mills’ one probably the dumbest of the lot. We need to stamp this @@@@ out.

Kyle is more wishful thinking than anything based on the game he struggled at times with the pace of game he has talent but will take time and Bowman worked into the game, along with Cottee but both showed with a few more weeks under the belt they could push for selection

But it's more the dimensions that worry me. It's essentially the same long but thin shape as the Cattery. Which I don't think really suits our game style. Yesterday seemed to be a bit of a master class in switching the point of attack and running into space. Whereas, thinner grounds allow the defending teams to limit attacking options and to compress space. Which increases the chances of just kicking long to a contest, and the game largely moving from contest to contest. Rather than sweeping the ball downfield, while the defenders grab at smoke.

This likely contested game might be even more of a problem for us, if Sheldrick is hit with a suspension and Petracca manages to return for the Suns. If that was the case, I'd be very tempted move Mills to midfield, because he can be combative around the ball and he can get from contest to contest. Then I'd also be tempted to give a debut to Edwards. He'd probably be quite a good match up for Walter, and his booming kick could come in handy. That is, if it's difficult to kick the ball around the congestion, it could work if you sometimes kicked over it.
Trac is out for a month.

But yes, Sheldrick’s act was dumb and costly given we don’t have natural depth in that position. I guess our options also depend on how Melican pulls up. If he’s out I’d definitely like to give Edwards a shot but you’d probably need to keep Mills down back for his leadership and guidance. He’s also been crucial to Blakey being able to play higher.

How many can gather there ?
IIRC the Norwood ground is a smaller ground that might suit us.

Agree Wicks has definitely improved and become a key part of the defence. My only concern is that he can be exposed for pace against players such as Watson and Kickett, and admittedly so do most other players.

I wasn't expecting a thumping given WC' s recent form, so i'm very pleased with our sustained 4 quarter domimation.

I think pound for pound Heeney is the best player in the comp, particularly in the last 4 years. No other player like him, which David King highlighed post game. Adam Goodes was of similar ilk. We have been blessed having such gifted players.

Wondering if it's feasible for team to fly directly to Adelaide for gather round next week rather than having to double up long flights in a single week? I know there are management legstics involved, but it seems a disadvantage to teams having to do so. GC have to do the same which evens it up i suppose (they play at the MCG today).
