Four of the six games played so far this round have been decided by under 10 points. Three of these games had the AFL tipsters going 12-0 (all correct though, no upsets so far).
I was so compelled to change my tip to St Kilda, but glad i didn't! Following my rule of never changing tips and thought i'd regret it after the Saints fast start.

Been on the lucky side with the close ones so far this round. See what happens today, as the games have been much closer than predicted.

Quite possibly, but he's not listed as picking up an injury, and last game, the ruck duties appeared to be roughly shared by him and Marshall, so I was more or less wondering out loud, if the Saints are now considering Marshall to be their number one ruck?

And interestingly, Marshall is thought to be on around $950,000 a year, which with De Koning, makes for a very expensive ruck pairing. A ruck pairing that lost the hitouts to the combination of McAndrew and Maley: who both being supplementary selections, are probably around about minimum AFL wage. Of course, hitouts aren't the be all and end all of ruck work, but still, it doesn't really seem like the Saints are getting value for money?

The Saints got a bit carried away paying a packet for a pretty average ruckman.

It was always an absurd wage to pay him. He’s not a top 50 player in the comp, and never has been. He’s got talent, but some limitations too.

I get they had some cap space to spend, but to not go target someone younger who could move the needle on their list is criminally stupid.

Yes, the general process of the recent St Kilda management seems to be: 1 - Dominate media attention during trade week.
2 - Wait six months to discover that strategy isn't turning into onfield dominance.
3 - Blame the northern academies.

Looks like we're getting the good Demons today. Strangely, there's a part of my brain, that wouldn't mind seeing the Lions get a beating on the MCG.

It's interesting how they seem to be the Victorian team, that most non-Victorians quite like. I've no real idea why?

My ‘guess’ is they’re not racists like the Hawks, not deluded throwbacks like the Dons and Blues, not the Pies (who are the Pies), don’t cheat their salary cap like the Cats, didn’t try to screw over Sydney and boo Goodes in the final kick of his career like Norf, didn’t cheat their way to a flag like the Dogs, and aren’t pathetic whingers like the Saints. I personally don’t mind Richmond.

But Melbourne are a genial club, don’t loud mouth, and have some admirable players, so …

While key defenders, O'Donnell and Lobb went off with hamstring injuries. And on top of that, they only have six days until they face the ladder leaders.
My mother always said that if you can't say something nice then you shouldn't say anything at all .... so I will refrain from saying anything about the Bulldogs' injury woes and whether that gives me any pleasure.
My opinion is objective truth in its purest form

I was trying, but I'm not really sure if I succeeded?

I've known many Melbourne supporters and have never met one I didn't like. I said that to a Demon suppporting friend once and he said that's because Melbourne suppporters are used to losing!

However, I believe imuninformedtwo's assessment of Melbourne and other Victorian clubs is closer to the truth of why Melbourne is generally liked by supporters of other clubs.
