Swans chat Team Changes for the Pies

So, the injury report is out.

McCartin, Serong and Curnow all listed as tests for this week. But Roberts is listed as 2-4 weeks with groin soreness, which explains his low TOG last week.

If the first three are declared fit, you’d say McCartin for Melican, Serong for Roberts and Charlie for McLean, though I wouldn’t be surprised if Logan’s on watch despite his three goals. He only had four possies. Cox has been rewarding performance. On that note, does Corey Warner get a look in for Cootee, who’s had a taste of it but Corey’s last two weeks in the VFL have been excellent.

See the latest on the squad ahead of our Round 10 clash with Collingwood at the SCG. This Injury Update, presented by Castlereagh Imaging.

As an aside, a nice piece on Will Edwards.

I understand Paps, Heens, Mills or another star playing with a niggle but why a 22yr old like Roberts ? Baffling

These changes makes sense, however i'm not sure if it will extend to 4 changes. Not 100% convinced Co Warner will get another senior chance so soon despite his recent VFL performances , as he has yet to play a breakthrough game. Would like to be proven wrong!

The other consideration is when to rest Grundy for Ladhams. This week would make sense being the 2nd successive 6 day break, but suspect he would want to play against his old side.
The following week away against the Cats might be more likely.

I don't mind the policy of resting players with niggling injuries which we didn't do in 24 . So i'm mindful of a surprise omission or two.

Assuming the big 3 pass their fitness tests:

      IN: McCartin, Serong, Curnow
      Out: Melican, Roberts. Mclean/McDonald

The Pies will be without Moore, Lipinski (concussions) and Pendlebury (rested). Sidebottom is also under a cloud.

why not amarty instead of HMc. would show him he is not fully entrenched at swans and HM is a better option as relief for brody.and i think is a better shot for goal.

Armatey only kicked 1 goal v North Melbourne despite his 14 disposals as the leading forward. Has generally been more potent as the 2nd bananna to Curnow, taking the 2nd/3rd best defender.

McDonald has been quiet in the last few weeks. Only had 4 possesions v North despite his 3 goals.

I suspect the selectors would be loathed playing both Curnow and McLean in the same forward line, but they may have a rethink after last week.

While Amartey didnt his the scorebiard much he certainly would have taken some defending

Look at Freo, when you go tall they all aren't going to kick a bag every week but its about how hard they are to defend collectively

No team defends 3 tall fwds
