Pies had done a heap of homework and made us
    look pretty ordinary.
V Solid to come back from 33 pts down to get the win and
    the 4 points.
    Well done.
Hope Goodesy will make a return in the coming years and
    bring his kids .

He’s clearly injured so I get it but he was nowhere near best three on ground tonight.

But he didn’t get 25 possessions!

Coxy has some work to do, but he’d know it and we’re banking the wins anyway.

The BOGs were obvious in Blakey, Grundy, Heeney and McInerney, but special credit goes to Wicks for the job he did on the little woosie boy, Serong for just key and composed moments when we needed it and Cootee for his defensive work.
Also had a quiet chuckle to myself when Rowy stuck that tackle.

In his 150th game. The Bloods would've been so proud!

Nothing from McRae about how they "train for the close ones" this week then.

In The Age's ongoing quest to make the headline about Collingwood, they at least included the name of the other team this time:

The Swans were in a deep hole in the second quarter under the bright lights of the prime-time stage against the powerhouse Pies. Then disaster struck Craig McRae’s men.

That said, a reasonably-balanced article follows. Was the Steene injury a big moment? It just looked like one of many moments from the stands, to be honest. Speaking of the stands, how about that huge cheer for Heeney when he ran on after being stuck on the bench in the last quarter.

Interesting game - the pressure certainly tested the Swans early and a couple of the new faces lost some composure. It went from being a bit of a horror show to a thrilling comeback win. Good to see them turn it around in the second half and start applying the pressure the other way.

Good that they're getting a full week break - big test next game!

I noticed in the fantasy points ratings that our 2 worse players were Amartey and Curnow. Now wonder it was hard work to score a goal.

Amartey dropped a lot of marks. He got his hands to the ball but they didn't stick. Having watched the replay, he was playing from behind a lot. Missing set shots early didn't help his cause.

I think it's time to change the game plan a bit. Other sides know how to shut down our corridor hand ball gamel. We should still go to it, but only when time is right, particularly late in quarters and the opposition lets us do it.

We should revert to our high pressure, more defensive minded game style that was very successful for us in the pat. The turnover game has worked for us before and we should have enough experience and leadership on filed to switch between the 2 styles at the right time. If we want to win a premiership, we will have to learn to do this.

It's been disappointing how little defensive effort and offensive coordination we've been getting from our tall forwards lately. Of course it won't happen, but I would drop Curnow and Amartey for Hamling and Corey Warner for the next game. Both have been good in the reserves.

We are looking down the fun barrel of a big loss unless we change up something. We might as well be proactive.

It was a very welcome surprise to bag those 4 points.
The Swans will be hunted now and games will be harder
                        to win .

Earlier in the year we had 92 tackles in a game. We haven't been anywhere near since. Watching the replay it was evident this part of game has dropped away. And I reckon the previous 2 games. There was one passage of play where Edwards had possession running into the midfield and hand passed ahead where a big kick would have landed the ball at around 20 metres out from goal. He is such a booming kick that he should have used it to give our forwards a chance. By the way, Edwards has been a revelation. I thought the delivery to our forwards was pretty ordinary.

I reckon Bice has been very soft in the contest. Seems to be playing bruise free footy. I feel we have genuinely missed Roberts with his long kicks forwared.

What i noticed was when McInerney went in for the centre ball, up we were far better on the centre clearances.

Hopefully we have been in a mini slump but have managed to win.
