Ladhams is unreliable sometimes as a forward. But he can kick bags, and I think has been working hard to improve in that regard - and that has shown at VFL level. Has to convert it to AFL level of course, but he deserves his chance to show what he can do.

I think Green is still injured and I recall some poster saying McLean doesn't ruck
      I was thinking the same!

I have sneaking suspicion Cox is contemplating in playing 2 Rucks against St Kilda the following week, who have TDK and Marshall.

Selecting McLean this week also gives Cox the option of resting Armatey against Saints and give McLean a run of consecutive games as we head to towards our R15 bye. Experiment with our tall forwards / ruck setup, paricularly with keeping Grundy fresh in the back half of the season.

I'm also hoping he'll similary rotate our small forwards, particularly with Paps now out for 6 weeks and that we may also see Dattoli & Phillipou get a run.

Snell may also get a game if we decide to rest Lizard (worried about his sore shoulder).

Good to test out our list and help improve our depth in the back half of the season.

Ladhams has been doing the large majority of rucking. McLean has been doing a small amount of rucking, while Tom Ryan has been doing a little bit more. However, Ryan at 195cm, is more a tall forward. Podmore-Taylor started in the ruck about 5 or 6 weeks ago, but picked up a concussion and he's only come back into the side recently as a defender. Ryan has been named in the ruck for tomorrow's game, where he'll be up against his cousin Samson. Hopefully Podmore-Taylor will also ruck, as he's athletic with a good leap, and at 202cm, he's genuine ruck size.

I hope we try a few things like you suggest KSAS - because you need depth that is ready to go if you are going to win a flag - not hope you have your best 23 on the park, because chances are you wont.
