I do love a heist, more so when it's my team. They found a way to win despite missing/losing some important players.

Saints certainly brought their best game yesterday and Swans were slow to respond - that's all it takes for things not to go as expected! The crowd never gave up hope though, which is something I've noticed a few times this season when the Swans have been on the back foot. There's a belief in the win, inspired in large part by Heeney I think, who is the ultimate competitor. Agree that McDonald really stood up yesterday too, a great game from him. Rowbottom really influential too.

We had Serong, Cleary, Corey Warner and Jevan Phillipou up at our junior club this week - all great young blokes who interacted with our kids really well - so I was happy to see Serong have his moment.

I said to the family early in the fourth that the Swans were going to steal it at the death having been behind all game - and I could just have easily been wrong as right - but I won that 50/50!

The young defenders rightly praised by Cox in his press conference, Kyle and Edwards both did well with McCartin down. I noted that Snell's name came up in the potential names for next week.

I actually thought that Windhager did a pretty good job tagging Heeney, but many people think that Heeney was BOG. Which points to how tough and determined Heeney is these days.

And even though I've seen plenty of Kyle and Edwards at academy level, I've been pleasantly surprised by how good they've been at AFL level. I think Kyle has improved his disposal efficiency and he's more likely to hit the right target, while it seems to me that Edwards has improved his agility and he's probably now deceptively quick over 10 or 20 metres.

I like Rowy but if he had 8 kicks 6 of them were smothered

I'm really starting to think that when Ramps comes back, Mills needs to go more midfield.

Still on a huge high from yesterday's great win!

I've watch the "Last 2 Minutes" video on the club website numerous times and we got everything right! (Well, except for Nick's kick to Silvagni who managed to take 13 seconds off the clock with "cramp."

The play that led to the final goal was a thing of beauty, reminiscent of Ball to Davis in the 2005 SF, Ball to Buchanan in the 2005 GF and Grundy to Gulden in our win against St.Kilda at Marvel last year.

Grundy's tap to Isaac was magnificent, Isaac thought of handballing to Rowy but then spotted Serong and Jai finished it off! The jubilation from the players, the fans and those in the coachs' box was exhilarating!

I'll bask in the glow of this win for a few days and worry about us being seriously undermanned for our next game later in the week.

He's too old at 23 for a Rising Star nomination. Now Harry Kyle might be different. No one has mentioned him. I thought he was darn good. He doesn't seem to make many mistakes and has courage in spades. I also think Roberts was short of a run, even though he covered more ground than anyone.

Certainly agree re Kyle. He is making good decisions and using it well under pressure. 85% efficiency and no turnovers. His class is already evident. There was another lovely sweeping handball chain with Heeney through the middle.

It is good to get the win, but the Saints played bad football in the last few minutes. Their idea of saving a game is to stack the backline for the last few minutes and hope to keep the ball out. That doesn't work. If all players are inside the defensive 50, that's where the ball will be. A kick for goal will be likely. Kicking out to space doesn't work either. If the opponents are aware of this, they will keep players outside to get the ball and kick it back. They should have tried to get possession and kick it to their players, not vast open spaces guarded by opponents.

They have kicked goals and the lead is down to five. We have packed the backline but cannot hold them for long. The crowd cheers ... booing, booing in the outer. We cannot keep it out. A shadow moves over the sun. We cannot keep it out. They are coming. (with apologies to Jackson and Tolkien)

The difference for me though is how clean he stays. And some of those left foot kicks down the outer side wing in the final quarter, only he can do. Let alone the late switch to a left handed handball to Serong.

Logan’s game reminded me of peak pre-move to the midfield ROK (is hot), and as Simon Day once said that ain’t bad! I was surprised to see he was only credited with 2 contested marks. Don’t make him burn energy as a second ruck unless it’s a break glass moment, let him roam as a CHF n big leading patterns and use his ability to read the game as he sees fit- how good was his anticipation to cut short the quick outlet kick out of defence by the Saints and give off a quick handball that I think ended up with Chad’s goal?

Apparently Ladhams played another blinder in the two's with the insane stats of 35 touches, 25 hitouts, 10 clearances, seven score involvements, eight marks and six inside-50s......wow!

I was so disappointed when he got dropped this week.

OMG! Finally something we can agree on. Wrong decision to play Melican over Ladhams. Melican was, as so often happens, out of touch and a metre off the pace. Ladhams is pretty average as a forward but he is greatly improved as a mark and ball user. Still an iffy kick but he would have been a far better option than Melican. I would be ticked off if he did not get a call up next week when we play is former side, Port.

I think you have to acknowledge the great job Colin Oriordan did as head coach of the academy in recent years and likewise Nick Malceski is doing with the VFL Team. Players are stepping up to the higher grade and appear ready for the challenge. You only have to look at the VFL team and you can see the fast ball movement has been drummed into them
