General footy chat Round 14: the other games.

Should be a hard fought start to the round, with the Bulldogs hosting the Crows. After being devastated by injuries early in the season, the Bulldogs have been slowly getting players back and consequently finding form, while the Crows will be boosted after grinding out a win over Geelong.

Tomorrow's game also looks interesting with the Cats hosting the Suns at GMHBA Stadium. Though looking at that collection of letters, I'm wondering if it should be pronounced goomba or gumby? I might go with gumby in future. It somehow seems more appropriate. Anyway, the Suns will be looking to get back to form, after looking flat since they returned from Darwin. Hopefully they can.

Perhaps the other most interesting game is the final one of the round, the Saints v Giants. Strangely, to me, the Saints are favourites. It seems that punters are giving more value to their honourable loss against us, than the convincing wins that the Giants racked up against the Demons and the Lions.

With that jersey, I'm wondering if the Dogs are planning to sing their song in barbershop quartet style?

Of course, they might not get to sing their song.

All they need is the hats and they're set to go!

Huge, huge quarter time lead for the Crows but after watching what the New York Knicks did to the San Antonio Spurs today, I'm going to wait awhile before I declare that the Poodles are gone.

Handy late goal to the Crows. Dawson has 103 fantasy points at half time.

This has been building from the Crows as they get players back. Shows what injuries do.

Apologies in advance, but Jordan Dawson is a very good footballer.
I occasionally wonder what if. Imagine what damage could be done with a midfield of Heeney, Gulden, Warner and Dawson.

I do find it a bit tiresome, in the run up to Suns games, to have Victorian commentators speculating as to which Suns players are possible signings for Victorian clubs.

Suns have started well. Hope they keep it up.

Now it's following a familiar depressing script.
