It appears that Amartey and Rosa have lost the plot, Both terrible games last night, It might be time for them to play VFL.Comment

I thought Rosas played better up the ground, maybe we have too many out to let that happen but he is evasive and a good field kick.
Amartey needs to jump and crash packs, stays down like he is a crumber. Ladhams in, Mclean permanent fwd, he jumps at everything
Logan and Curnow are unreal when let to roam.
The tall structure is working except for Amartey having an Amartey type patch of games. Built like Tarzan plays like Jane
His only out is that the delivery into the fwd line was terrible with alot of guys going for kick of the year.👍 1Comment

-ladhams not picked (i think) because he is only a ruckman. struggles up fwd. Hayden may not be a best back up ruck but when he rests fwd is very good although last night his kivking was off (very unusual for him).
Amartey is the real problem must be thinking about his millions not concentrating on football and is dropping easy marks , definitely a time for the twos. Cleary (his over the heard handball is shocking) struggles and I think Corey or Billie C would be a better pick. Bice is making too many mistakes for my liking and maybe Snell or Ramps (when fit) ccould replace him. Will be good to get some injured players back.Comment

Some encouraging news on injuries: Good news keeps coming as Swans prepare for tough run after bye (afl.com.au). The article names five players who are likely to return from injury soon and mentions the four difficult games to come after the bye. Players named were Gulden, McCartin, Papley, Rampe and Campbell.
This week's The Round So Far on the AFL website mentioned eight players as "key injuries" at about the 2 minute mark. I would say seven of those players would be first 23 when fit (not Hanily)."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

There is a big drop in level of play by Amartey and Rosas.
Harry Kyle seemed to play a bit more in mid than at the back and Rowbottom was brought into the mid too.
but then there were 4 players who were probably not providing enough grunt to get the ball from inside to outside - Rowbottom, Jordon, Sheldrick and Kyle. I think that is way too many.
cleary was ok - compared to previous games but I would have thought that his role of linking between the midfield and the forward line should have been done by both Rosas and him. The fact that Rosas did not get as much of the ball tells me that Cleary is getting to the right spots more often than not. He needs to work on his disposals - there is never going to be enough time to find the right way to dispose. He probably lacks the spatial awareness in tight spots and the handballs and kicks are decided very late and hence struggles. He definitely deserves to more time in the team.
And it was Rowbottom late in the game to get to thr front and centre of the pack to kick the goal and not Rosas unless he was off the ground.Comment

Some harsh critics about!
Are we not winning games despite having injuries to multiple key players, sitting in 2nd on the ladder, 12 points clear of 3rd with a strong %?
Opposition teams know that they have to bring their best if they're going to have any chance at all. They all saw what happens when they don't when we played the Tigers.
Not everyone in the team is going to be at their best all game, every game. There are no guarantees that replacements are going to come in and be consistently better. It's smart to have some continuity to allow the team to gel and grow confidence rather than chopping and changing all the time, especially when we're winning games and have so many top players unavailable.👍 2Comment

Could quite possibly have been the most biassed commentary team in the history of the game! Hinkley (ex Port Coach), Dwayne Russell (Ex Port Player), Shaun Burgoyne (Ex Port Player), Mark Ricciuto (Adelaide-centric). When you have Kenny using the 'we' word instead of Port, and responding to Port goals with 'good boy', and questioning virtually every free to the Swans and every non call for the power, you know there's a touch of bias there. Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.Comment

Just watched the replay and Cleary was more than good, he was very, very good. Clean possessions, got out in the open, took a strong contested mark at CHF, goal assist and hard at it. By far his best game and living up to the promise he showed in his first year. I can't see how he loses his spot in the team. He was running as hard as anyone at the end of the game. I'm happy to say I got it wrong with him. Let's hope he goes on from here.Comment
