All fair enough, and good to see Logan get some reward for his last two weeks.

Heeney should have won the award in 2024, but we rested him for the final game (for the ankle we now know was on the verge of collapse).

Hope he goes on to win it, and a few other things, this year.

I'm happy to say I got it wrong with him. Let's hope he goes on from here.
I'm not sure which of the multitude of rating systems out there. But he was ranked no 1 for the Swans on whichever measure it was. He has a lot to improve on, but I thought he had a real crack and did a lot right - there is a good AFL level player in there.

Opposition teams know that they have to bring their best if they're going to have any chance at all. They all saw what happens when they don't when we played the Tigers.
Not everyone in the team is going to be at their best all game, every game. There are no guarantees that replacements are going to come in and be consistently better. It's smart to have some continuity to allow the team to gel and grow confidence rather than chopping and changing all the time, especially when we're winning games and have so many top players unavailable.
What is the key thing to take from Saturday night (And indeed St Kilda the week before) is the resilience in the squad and willingness to find a way to win the close ones. That should put us in good stead as the season progresses.
