General footy chat Round 17: the other games.

Should be a quality start to the round, with Geelong hosting Brisbane tonight. Strangely, despite their two premierships and their recent flogging of us, I'd still prefer a Brisbane win.

Perhaps more strangely, I'm sensing an upset on Saturday in the GWS v Fremantle game. No real rational reason, just that it's more or less season on the line for GWS and there may be a chance that Fremantle are starting to bask in their own publicity.

Also found it vaguely interesting, that Port are clear favourites against North, despite being 12 points behind them on the table. Possibly has something to do with the fact, that six of North's eight wins, are from beating West Coast twice, Richmond twice and Essendon twice.

I'm enjoying Brisbane's pressure game, a lot more than I did last week

        Brisbane: 9 inside 50s, 7 goals.
        Geelong: 10 inside 50s, 3 behinds.

Makes our effort last week against Brisbane look decent by comparison.

Shame that Geelong got that little bit of optimism before quarter time. I'd prefer to see their soul crushed.

This is one of those rare games where I don't really care who wins because I don't hate either side. But I must admit that I, too, am enjoying watching the Cats getting belted.

(First 2 goals of the second quarter to Geelong.)

That was a very soft free to Neale.

Imagine how many goals Buddy would've kicked if he'd received free kicks like that.

I suspect that Barry Hall never got a free like that.

We may have celebrated Geelong's demise a little early, deja!

Let's just hope that it degenerates from there.. Chimpanzee boundary dispute?

You'd think that Scott would a bit pissed off with a tap to a clear Dunkley five metres out.

Bizarre to think that GWS kicked 14 goals in a quarter six weeks ago against Brisbane.
