This was a very stupid action and was rightly punished on field with a free kick leading to an easy goal. This should be highlighted mercilessly in the match review with a replay on loop in front of the entire playing group until Gulden goes to the front of the room and apologises to all the players. He needs to apologise to Weightman as well if he hasn't already done so. Gulden needs to harden up and get the skin of a rhino quick smart because it shows that it's possible to put him off his game with niggle.

The incident should become a part of future training for new recruits showing what not to do.
At the same time, that doesn’t result in a free kick on a different player. That little grub made it look like he’d detonated a land mine.

      Paps back is good

I just think Cleary and Hannily arent pure fwds
Rosas and Cootee seem to have more fwd craft, even if they aren't exceptional

A small fwd inside the 50 should be clean hands and a shot on goal in less then 5 steps, the ones we are playing now have zero goal sense.

        MRO findings:
        * Matthew Kennedy (WB) offered a 1-match ban for forceful front-on conduct.
        * William Lewis (WB) fined for staging.
        * Jordan Croft (WB) and Dane Rampe (Syd) fined for engaging in a melee.

The backline was superb against the Bulldogs and as long as McCartin, Edwards, Mills, Blakey and Rampe, with Wicks to come back I am confident with that lot.
Add Serong and Roberts playing on the wings who get back to assist I do not share your concerns.
I did watch a little of VFL game yesterday and Bice was outstanding and clearly above that level as noted by the commentators. He was dropped for a very good reason and as long as they do not allow him to take kick ins he still has a role to play.
we have depth in the backline with Cunningham, Melican, Haming and Kyle all contributing.

Also controversially, while I do think hanily and Corey Warner probably aren’t AFL level, I think Cleary is starting to show signs
Watching Dattoli in the VFL yesterday he seems to have a habit of going to ground to easily and needs to eradicate this if he is to progress to the next level. Phillipou on the other hand looks to be a real talent and given that he virtually had no preseason because of injury, he is developing nicely. Not quite ready yet but look out for him next season

Has Phillipou registered a tackle this year?

He has had 14gls and 4 tackles in the last month in VFL

Tackles is hardly a pre requisite for the top side.

                  Cleary 7 Games 2 goals, 20 tackles

                  Rosas 13 games 16gls, 37 tackles

                  Hannily 3 games 1 Goal, 6 Tackles
