David Parkin call on the game

He shouldn't be allowed to commentate on Hawks games, he continually showed his bias and all he did the whole game was talk the Hawks up.

Nope can't agree with you, I really found it insightful finding out how much Ben Kane and Robert Campbell have grown in stature over the past seasons.

I must have tuned out by then, at least Lynch was unbiased and informative.

Amateur hour at the MCG. Were all the good commentators at the Port Adelaide v Essendon game? Or at channel 9?

I found him a bit biased towards Hawthorn!!

Also Fox must be cost cutting with the commentators that was on and their skills weren't the best.

When the Host Matthew Campbell was having a chocking fit, none of the other commentators spoke for him, even as he tried to say someone have to speak, still no one talked!

Of course he is biased. He's on Hawk's board of directors and he's also contracted by Foxfooty. The problem here is that everybody believes that umps and the commentators are not biased, which is, as everybody knows, complete bull@@@@.

I don't understand why a biased umpire is a cause for concern. They don't have any bearing on the outcome of the game, do they?

I had to laugh when Kevin Bartlett called NOG "Luke Bolton"! Brought back memories of Jack Dyer when he used to just randomly throw christian names and surnames together.

I like David Parkin and have a huge respect for him. Sometimes his comments (on WLF) suggest he's a bit old-fashioned in his views of the game, but his passion is evident and he is usually pretty balanced.

That said, I agree that his commentary efforts were very ordinary last night. Was he there as a special Hawthorn comments man, or was he employed to actually call the game.

I usually like Bartlett, and find him to be knowledgable and pretty even in his calls, but he seemed to be pandering to Parkin last night, and just wanted to talk about how rosy the future is for the "young Hawks".

I felt the same about Parkin and even Campbell was chiming in with a little too much pro-Hawk bias. This was surprising since a week or so ago on Sunday night's 'The Winners' he opened the show with a very firm statement that he believed the Swans would go back to back. And I thought fans were fickle!

The most irritating thing for me last night was the constant talking up of Baz's opponent (yea the kid did well but...) who got a look in only after Baz had the stuffing knocked out of him. Not once did they mention that Baz might have been suffering. Oh no, they just went on and on about how good the kid was. Very balanced.....not.
Patterns emerge, but do they mean anything? No.
