      Yep, Schmidt in for Malceski.

You have to reward the young guys for consistency.

I am excited about our young talent coming through. It bodes well for the future when our future stars can debut alongside current day champions.

Bolton in for Malceski is a pretty obvious change if B2 is ready.

But surely Roos needs to find out how much depth he really has. Sooner or later we're going to have more than one player injured at any one time.

I was pretty disappointed with McVeigh's effort last night. Even if some of the senior player can be excused for dropping off their intensity just slightly, you'd think that the players on the fringe would be taking advantage of a poor opponent to run hard and press home their claim.

I'm glad that McVeigh has been given an extended run, and he's starting to look like he will become a good player. But eventually you have to reward those running around in the twos with an opportunity or they'll all start to wonder what the point is. Maybe Schmidt in for McVeigh is a decision to be made.

Hopefully something is done soon. You can imagine most young kids would not be keen to come to Sydney as they want to play senior footy and Sydney seems to be one of the worst places for that.

Agree, Bateman beat him one on on every time.

It would take too long to try to find a definitive answer to the question, 'What is the highest number of individual possessions ever accumulated in an AFL game (since those stats were kept)?' But just to pick 3 notorious ball-hogs at random (using rleague.com stats): Robert Harvey's best is 45, Scott Camporeale's is 45, and Scott West's a surprisingly moderate 40.

I know it's a long way from the ACT to AFL (except in the dictionary), but some things are consistent: 36 players on the park, the game is only so long, no matter how slack your direct opponent you still need to go and get it (or be in position to accept it), etc. When you think of all of the greatest players, in their most dominant form, to think they've never got near 62 possies is some compliment to Schmidt.

Something worth noting for all of those saying 'if Sydney's going to draft players and not give them a run for 2 or 3 years, they'll just get dispirited and give up/go elsewhere': Jared Crouch selected in the 1995 draft (#8, which is well above all of Sydney's current undebuted players). Played his first match round 7, 1998, two and a half years after turning up. And has played a couple since then.

I agree that the kids who are coming in to the AFL will look at us and think that it will take them ages to crack in to the seniors which may put a few of them off. However I think the smarter kids (ie the ones we want) will realise that this club is going places at the moment and I think that most of them would want to be part of it. They will figure that maybe a few extra games in the twos is what it may have to take in order to join a quality side. Personally, I wouldn't mind doing a longer than usual apprenticeship if it meant that I was going to crack it in to one of the most organised and well structured teams in the league...I know not every kid would have this mentality but I reckon the good, smart ones would...

Greg Williams managed about 50 or so at least once.

Maybe, maybe not. Perhaps three years is a long time to wait and things can change in that time.

To put things into perspective, Carlton midfielder Andrew Carrazzo totalled 51 for the Northern Bullants on the weekend.

Yep he beat him, but one would expect Chance to have beaten him by a lot more. Bateman is a good player who has averaged over 20 posessions a game this season. This week he got 12 posessions, I think we could give Jarrad a passing grade for an effective tagging job.
