Which means no Doyle, no Willoughby and no Spriggs...and we still won by so much!!!

Not sure if all were injured..or whether one of them was down in Melbourne as an emergency

and is spriggs ever going to get a run? he came to sydney looking for oppurtunities yet he is playing in the canberra league winning by 100 points every game.
In some ways Schmidt reminds me of Greg Williams maybe not the quickest guy running around but he is brilliant with his hands a great tackler and good overhead for his size.

As for Spriggs a fair player but not good enough to get a regular game in this current Swans team unless we have 3 or 4 midfielders go down at once.

North Melbourne play a tall forward line, so if C Bolton is fit then he will need to replace Malceski. If not then either Vogels or Dempster will play not Schmidt. We were very lucky on Saturday night that the Hawks were not able to exploit their advantage up forward with height. We were one tall defender short with Malceski and with him going off early it could have been a disaster if the Hawks were able to move the ball quickly and effiently into their forward line.

As for whether Schmidt comes in for McVeigh, the one area North are suspect at present is pace so I would think from a match commitee point of view they would be looking to exploit that this week so I can't see Schmidt replacing McVeigh this week.

Schmidt has been pretty consistent in the 2's and would be overworked coming off such a tiring week last week. I'm surprised the capt / coach didn't pull him off to make sure he didn't pull a hammy after so many possessions.

We need to seriously put him in though, to keep him in our side. He's from Adelaide and I'm sure a team like Port would take a serious peek at him sooner or later if we don't put him in our team soon..

McVeigh was a bit low on the last game.. perhaps he needs a run in the 2's, and Schmidtty could come in. Maybe we have another Judey in the making?? (No, not JUDDY hahaha)

For mine, it's B2 for Malceski and Schmidt for McVeigh, who got a right touch-up by Bateman on the weekend.

That would go against Roos' ethos of not punishing players for one poor performance. If it happens this week and into next then we may see my man Jarrad given a break from the seniors. I don't think Roos' is going to mess with a winning formula at the moment.

Bateman is averaging 20 disposals per game this year and had 12 against McVeigh (7 coming from marks).
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Did B2 strain his hamstring or is it just soreness?

Either way, 1 week seems a very short time for him to get over it.

The medical staff have been great lately but this quick recovery seems to go against their general conservativeness when it comes to resuming from hamstring injuries.

I wasn't having a dig at you Stellation. I was pointing out some have ignored R'n'R's original post. Bateman had his flag lowered by McVeigh.
