    Swans V Saints

So we have seen of the Kangas and now have one game at home before the split round break.

If we get a win against the saints I would take that as a pretty decent start to the season. Hopefully our form is good enough to get through to the rest week.

Week off to get over any niggles we seem to have picked up with players they past few weeks.

Then a good blockbuster against the Pies to get the next half of the season going.
I will be a member again when I return.

I can hardly wait for the next 2 games. I hope we hurt St Kilda bad next weekend in front of an SCG full house. And then bring on the Collingwood blockbuster.

They lost another midfielder today with Andrew Thompson going down and it is very unlikely that Goodard will survive the tribunal this week. Ball still looks like he is struggling with his groin.

None of Kosi, Hamill abd Clarke x 2 are due back this week.

If we turn up to play (unlike today) and really play 4 quarters of high pressure football it could get ugly for the Saints.

However they will be keen to knock us off this week after last year.

I think Kosi is out for most, if not all, of the rest of the H&A season.

Hamill and Clarke have another month.

Thompson's really no great loss but Goddard would test their depth. They lack pace in the midfield, another key defender and are weak in the ruck.

Agree with Swantastic. Saints very much over-rated.

Everyone says they have the best list going around. Maybe the best first 18 or so players when they are all fit and firing but when was the last time that happened?? After that first bunch, there is a fair group of nevilles that would struggle to get a game for the mighty Wyong Lakes Magpies.

I am not predicting a spanking, the old cliche says 1 point is enough but more is better!!

You can say that again. The majority of footy "experts" were tipping the Saints to win the flag and to finish either first or second - both won't happen this season. TAB Ozbet had them prior to the season as $5 favourites to win the flag, now $10 in 5th favourite to win.

Overall, the Saints lineup isn't much special. They do have the "power forwards" in Riewoldt and Gehrig but both can easily be contained. The little (goal) sneak Milne will probably play up field as their midfield is running out of options. I can't see the defence match up to the likes of Hall, O'Loughlin and Davis so Bazza should win the goal race. The ruck is that bad that even Chambers plays like a Spida. Should've kept Knobel...
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

When all fit and on song, the Aints have the best 22 in the comp (albeit they're brought back to the pack somewhat by the fact that they're coached by a guy who wouldn't be in the top 22 coaches in the country). Of course, neither of those two things are even close to being true at the moment.

The fact remains, though, that their midfielders who are still standing are capable of winning at least their share of the clearances, and their forwards are capable of kicking a winning score. They're a classic mentally fragile team which means that if we can get them down, they'll start beating themselves.

Having dodged a bullet today, if we don't turn up to play with greater purpose and intensity against the Saints, we'll find ourselves 5 goals down at three-quarter time and then it will only be a question of whether we can perform another patented Swans escape job.

If we can play as a team, and do everything possible to get the ball into BBBH's hands, however...
