Well, just a minute....I think we did very well from the umpires last night (who i thought did an excellent job in tough conditions) but if we had a gripe it was the difference in treament to both FFs. All very well to say that Leo was holding but this is how Gehrig plays the game - in the goal square incident there is no qn that Fraser is holding Leo as well - he just happens to be the guy who lets go first so poor old Leo cops the rap. The same went for the scramble in the goal square where the free wasn't paid.

It wasn't Leo's finest night but if you take a couple of 50/50 fress out I'd call it about even. As GS rightly notes, no comparison between the attention that Hall got and what Gehrig got - in fact often I thought our guys could've been doing a lot more to help Leo. All power to the Saints that they did such a good job double/triple/quadruple-teaming Hall.

I'm on the "It was not Leo's fault" bandwagon. I thought he did quite well with regards to the conditions. Yeah he made about 2 stupid errors but that is football, and in those conditions if u have played football before, you will know that mistakes are going to happen. They were NOT the reason we lost. The reason we lost is because the team played like @@@@ all night.

Leo saved couple of near certain goals too - his effort to get his foot around Gehrig on the goal line was excellent.

More of an issue was how the Saints managed to isolate Gehrig one on one with Barry for so much of the game, yet Hall had absolutely no room to work.

Once it was clear the "crowd the forward line" option wasn't working, it would have been nice to see them try isolating O'Loughlin or Davis in the goal square for a while (given that Maguire was playing a blinder on Hall).
