    Schneider was excellent.

The only 'mistake' I can recall is in the last quarter when kicking it to the square he kicked it too long and instead of landing at the top of the square it went over the back. He might have done that twice I think. I find that a bit frustrating when players do that - it's too easy to force through for a behind.

Fantastic work scouting goals and pretty solid around the ground.

Yep, he was good Anni - but jeez he annoys at times - so much talent.

Do you reckon Kirky was our best?

I'd say Kirk or Goodes were our best.

C Bolton was good too, although let himself down defensively a bit.

J Bolton and Buchanan were able to get the ball a lot, but their kicking was too often poor.

        Was Ablett injured?

A lot less mistakes that Leapin Leo, I don't think he will look back at this game in his retirement.

What got me is that when we kicked it nearly always was to the opposition. Then again when you just try and kick long without a target I suppose that is bound to happen, but it seemed to happen far to much.

St Kilda was easily the better team. They could mark and pick the ball up in the wet - did Sydney take any contested marks? How many times did they try to handball in impossible conditions? Do any Swans players(besides Kirk) have any brains? They played dumb footy and deserved to lose. In fact they haven't really been that good for several weeks. New players deserve a chance. The players we are carrying have had enough chances.

Very frustrating. Why did it take us 3 quarters to play wet weather football? Even then, we couldn't find any space in the forward line, whereas the Saints had space all night.

Kirk clearly our best. Schneider, Tadhg, ROK, Jude, CBolt, Goodes and Monty (at the end) also played well.

They just can't play their own small ground any more.

Because Roos coaches independent thought out of his players. They are too well drilled, cannot break from the normal game plan. We were very 2 dimensional tonight.

Agreed, our game plan is better suited to the larger grounds.

You must adapt and win in all conditions. There is absolutely no excuses tonight. Anyone who reckons the umps were poor tonight doesn't understand the game.

I hate losing when we have a good side and I am going to take aim at a few blokes.

J Bolton - Was a dud to half time, but once again decides to turn up late again. Sure he was tagged but was very tentative going for it in the first half. It is no coincidence that when he is on song we play better. So why not in the first half.
Crouch - That shoulder must be a problem because he did not put his head over the footy much at all tonight. Very tentative for one so courageous. Stuff the consecutive games if is not right.
Dempster - Does not deserve his place in the side. No idea with wet ball. Probably our worst.
Willo - at his age rest him on wet days - next to useless tonight.
Ablett - probably tagging someone but useless as he just holds on to which on a wet night is a waste of time. Seemed to be in reverse gear all night.
C Bolton - dumb footy and disposal - anything he did turned to mud, looked lost.
Leo - probably lost the game for us. When we challenged he handed them a gift. I believe he gave away 2 goals at least from frees and did that disgraceful turn over in the 2nd Q for one, and in the last Q when free just duffed the kick.
Chambers - It must be time to drop him. You cant keep Jolly rucking all night. If Chambers did 5% of what Jolly did tonight we win.
Buchy - why oh why persist in the stupid dry weather stuff. You are small in and under player who let yourself down with dumb disposal, again until the last Q. They must give them neuron transplants at 3Q time.

NOW FOR THE BIGGEST PAYOUT OF ALL TIME - RICHARDS.

This bloke pulled out at least 3 times. He made a couple of leads, the ball was put out in front of him, but when challenged front on by an opponent refused to put his body over the ball. He looked like he did not want to get wet or dirty his shorts and clearly doesnt like the hard body hits in the wet. In the packs in the defence 20 out from goal in the 3rd Q he made a couple of pussy put the hand into the pack efforts rather than put the body in.
I cant stand that weakness in a footballer. If you cant be super hard in the hardest conditions of all you dont cut it at the top level.

THE TEAM - second to the ball all night, even in the closing stages.
Why do we turn up to play wet weather only in the last Q.
The last 2 weeks we haven't wanted to bust our guts all game.
Why could STKilda hit the ball with clean kicks yet we continually slewed it off our boots when not under pressure and they had depth in our kicks compared to them.

Schneider redeemed himself for a poor first half and Kirk, O'Keefe and Goodes kept us in the game.

                        Overall didn't deserve to win.

They tried to pinpoint their passes too much. Fine in the dry, disaster in the wet.

Buchanan tries to be too cute at times with his kicking in the wet.

J Bolton kicks around the corner too frequently and sends the ball to the flank. He also tries to spot up teammates on short passes too much in the wet.

I think this loss was mostly Roos' fault.

                              1. Surely the direction to adapt our style-of-play must come from the coach. It didn't.
                              2. Leo Barry on Gehrig was an obvious error from before the first bounce. Leo coughed up at least 5 goals tonight. 3 to Gehrig, one free kick in the goal square, one clanger. Richards and Bolton were obvious options, but never tried.
                              3. I'm tempted to start a "Drop Chambers thread". He is an inanimate carbon rod. Deadwood. Anyone else would provide more.

                                too many negative responses.
a gutsy effort by both teams in attrocious conditions.
half way thru the season is now time to admit that richards and chambers were poor choices.both lack talent and the bloods spirit.
